Last year...a girl who makes very little money in the office...single mother...bought tiny gift bags - probably in the discount store...put a couple of chocolate candies in...tied it with pretty ribbon...and it was truly lovely...and gifts for the entire office probably were under $10.-...which is what? something like 5 pounds?

Chris 21 Nov 2006 20:54

Well i think the happiest will be neil when he gets his present - providing my mate gets off her ass and sorts it.

I am really looking forward to getting my pressie off cathie because i know what she has got me - a set of Blonde, Leggy, Nordic Triplets

At least i assumne that is what she got me, the text said it was something i had been complaining about not having so it must be that!!!

A hug is from the heart, beats a gift from a discount store any day!!!!!

Not that I'm saying Smoggie would frequent a discount store of course, just trying to give a term our overseas members would understand!!!!!

Well, in about half an hour I'll be off to uni, then four hours later will be back home for a bit, then will be going to hospital 12 miles away for operation (rather annoying seeing how I live two minutes drive away from and on the same street as Sunderland hospital! ), and should be back home on Monday, so shall see you all then!

Edit: wahey! 1,111 posts!:D

Forgot ... got distracted wondering what the parcel is that couldn't be delivered that I have to pick up tomorrow.

As for the hug thing, do they still get wrapped and left under the tree like other presents?

LucyK! 22 Nov 2006 18:09

In regards the first line - I hate you.

Hugs - they come wrapped up, complete with bow, and sit under the tree waiting to be claimed!

AndyK 22 Nov 2006 18:13

Wonders when the parcel will arrive that he was expecting, rather than the parcel that he wasn't expecting that he can't collect until tomorrow now ...

LucyK! 22 Nov 2006 18:17

I know they won. Was at the RVI hospital having nose op, they put me in a room overlooking St james' then Dad and brother had problems parking as all the footie fans took the free parking places outside hospital that are meant to be for hospital visitors! not fair:evil: am back home now, though, which i'm glad of.

geordieloaf 27 Nov 2006 19:00

Sorry to hear that. I know it's a git to park there at the best of times. Well at least you had a good view or maybe not for you.

How sad the tendency to grasp one side of a story with both hands, staunchly holding it up as solid fact, without even attempting to find out the other side. I guess it’s just easier for some that way. :(
