good song though!

Jungleland?

Beneath the city two hearts beat
Soul engines running through a night so tender
In a bedroom locked in whispers of soft refusal
And then surrender...

Tell me more- do you know how many of his songs have "night" in them someplace? :lol:

New song? Old Song? Slow? Fast?

Remember any more lyrics?

Was it "Something in the Night'? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oaGsxfGoVY
That would be pretty obscure for radio, though; "City of Night" even more so.

Was it "Darkness on the Edge of Town"? "New York City Serenade"? That's pretty obscure, too.

There's been a number of Japanese reissues, so that doesn't help much.

What's worrying about liking Bruce? :shock:

This is like "I saw this Bruce Willis movie and there was this scene... where he had a weapon. Do you know what movie that was?"

:lol:

duke knooby 15 Mar 2013 01:07

lol... i could use iplayer, and listen again

but thats not as much fun

Julie in the rv mirror 15 Mar 2013 01:09

Do you remember what the album cover looked like? :lol:

You said you heard it on the radio, but how did you know it was a Japanese release/ looked like an LP?

Lyric search results for the word "night": :lol:

http://brucespringsteen.net/?s=night...ype=song-lyric

"city": http://brucespringsteen.net/?s=city&...ype=song-lyric

"darkness": http://brucespringsteen.net/?s=darkn...ype=song-lyric

"midnight": http://brucespringsteen.net/?s=midni...ype=song-lyric

Maybe that will help narrow it down for you. ;)

I'm dying to know what it was now! :lol:

I have a feeling it was something from "Born to Run". (Seeing as how I personally have about 6 vinyl copies and at least 3 different CD versions. :angst: ;) :lol: )

LucyK! 15 Mar 2013 12:06

Jonty, do yourself a favour and see Bruce live. Seriously!!!

Andy's always been a big fan but I was never bothered, he booked us tickets to see him at the O2 back in 2006 and I only really went to see Max Weinburg and Roy Bittan, but by 30 seconds into the first song I was hooked. Springsteen's albums are great but they are nothing compared to what he does live.

You will be converted, I promise!

My wife had an interview for a big weekly magazine and that interview is in stores today. She was very pleased with the foto they used of her.

My favorite Springsteen album! :cool:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUTPsRJ6e2k

All of the songs are better in their live incarnations, though, IMO (especially Racing in the Street). I almost never listen to the original album anymore.

Darkness.. and Racing in the Street are about the same characters, I believe, as is The Promise, which was a Darkness outtake. Those songs follow the narrative from Thunder Road, from Born to Run.

Take a look at the lyrics, if you get a chance. ;)

You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it. :-)

I never thought about it having a country vibe, but Factory certainly does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK-LY3D_TJs

Although, I prefer the alternate version, Come On (Let's Go Tonight) :

Stoked he's touring this year. Meat is awesome! Looking forward to what's to come as far as gig set lists, reviews & more about Brave And Crazy. Gotta hunch he'll do excellent. Hope that we get to see/hear something from the tour professionally someday. Like to think the thing in Vegas will happen as well. As of right now, not feeling really sad but just positive for the one and only Meat Loaf.

I can honestly say I enjoyed each and every show, and there have been magic special moments and surprises throughout the years. But the first show has remained extra special to me :)

RSG 16 Mar 2013 17:44

First show? Which year was that? I agree there was magic at the Hang Cool Tour, for starters that acoustic guitar intro from Crook on 'Rock And Roll Dreams' simply Woah.

Cherry.Loaf 16 Mar 2013 17:45

Been a fan since 89 but my first show was 2008 when I was 18 :) the next one was 2010 just after my 21st when I'd not long started seeing Ash :) but have met the man himself twice and signings (the first one being the best day of my life hands down!) Not been to a lot of shows due to age and fundage but I've been lucky to have had the opportunities I've had

Also, I'm getting so tired of seeing a certain someone expressing their "opinion" on everything Meat Loaf-related online. Went to watch FCOL with the MSO, and once again it's impossible to avoid. Getting really, really old.

Nice one. Looking at the reviews his shows are a blast down under, some excellent set lists. Looking forward to him getting back to the UK again in the summer, expecially the show at Leeds in the new 15 000 seat arena, which will be an intimate gig after Wembley and Cardiff.

I have worn the same outfit for christenings, weddings and funerals for too long now. I do, though, flip between a bright tie and a black one.
With my pal getting married on Easter Saturday, I have decided to show some respect with a swish new look. Plus, he his returning from his just-booked honeymoon two days before the Birmingham gig which means I am able to attend (we work together so I would have had to still cover him if he was away at the time of the Meat show)
Suits do seem a little pricier than I remember.
