And then... it fell off of the moving truck

LucyK! 22 Jun 2013 19:36

Ohh don't... lol

When I moved in with Andy I remember the day I loaded my car up with "the collection" and my oldest teddy bear, set off and realised I needed petrol - didn't dare get out of the car! That stop put the Red Bull F1 team to shame, never re-fuelled so quickly in my life!

AndyK 22 Jun 2013 19:44

I'm sorry... I just hope the car won't break down at a railroad crossing... just before the train arrives :-P

Imagine, you... 20 feet away... having to watch that...

*anyway, hope the move goes well and you're able to settle down in the new place quickly ;)

LucyK! 22 Jun 2013 19:57

I'm terrified of rail crossings...I think it comes from the "rail safety" video they used to show at school when I was little, they did a really good job of keeping me away from them!

I remember those.

I think they might have given us some little rail safety booklet too and I remember having bad dreams about that sort of stuff.

LucyK! 22 Jun 2013 20:06

I vividly remember the video...some kids playing by the tracks, train comes then it all goes dark, then in the next shot they're in the kid's house and he's disabled, which I felt was a bit much for a 5 year old!!

It's ok, no rail crossings on the route ... and if there were we'd detour ;-)

Don't even know when we're moving yet, or even where to exactly, we just like to be prepared :))

How to pi$$ AndyK off in one easy lesson - drive across a rail crossing screaming with your eyes barely open...he doesn't like that!

LOL

Well... you do know that puttin it in boxes makes it easier for burglars to take it with them... right?

somehow related (but not really). True story.

A few years back I was away for the weekend. It was a stormy weekend with much rain. When I got home I discovered a small hole in the roof and the rain had poured inside. About 20 to 30 cm of water in the living room. I had stored all my cd's on the bottom shelf of my cupboard and needless to say all my CD covers got destroyed. Including my Meat loaf CD collection.

I had one signed Meat Loaf CD that was signed during the CHSIB tour which I was fund of. It happened that just before I left the house that weekend, I showed that CD cover to a friend of mine and I left the CD on top of my stereo set. It wasn't touched by the rain at all :D. No matter how devestated I was at first by the fact that a lot of stuff had suffered from the water, that actually gave me a feeling of relieve and joy

LucyK! 22 Jun 2013 20:37

Andy's "Meat Loaf stuff in the roof" story doesn't have such a happy ending..!

It doesn't no. Mainly because there wasn't a roof for a while, and my stuff was then effectively the roof!

Adje 22 Jun 2013 20:50

That doesn't sound like a happt tale...

AndyK 22 Jun 2013 20:54

It wasn't. Lost some autographed stuff form the 80's, including the 3 foot tall cardboard promotional gravestone from Hits Out Of Hell that Meat signed after the January Bad Attitude concert in my home town.

True, but it fitted well with the album cover. When the album was released the tracklisting was on a gravestone sticker on the cellophane on the album. So Epic enlarged it and used it as in store promotional material.

I'm pretty sure my lovely medical examiner copied down the wrong hearing scores and sent them off to the RAF. He put down my right ear has hearing loss. It doesn't, I hear 18KHz and over fine.. Have to do my own hearing test, and get that sorted.

First it's my eyes, now my ears.
