Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It's still an awesome film, and definitely the best of the four. It does bug me slightly though how Marcus Brody has become such a bumbling idiot.

Last movies I saw: Sherlock Holmes and the Spider Woman (an episode of the 1940s series with Basil Rathbone) and R-Point (pretty good South Korean horror flick) |

"Season Of The Witch", starring Nicolas Cage. Really liked it, had some great FX and CGI's. :))
J. xo |
Lost Boys..just love that film
|
Under Suspicion starring Gene Hackman as a rich lawyer and Morgan Freeman as the detective interrogating him. Very good and intense film with an unusual ending.
Black Swan, the infamous new film with Natalie Portman. If I called Under Suspicion intense then this is hyperintense ;) very possibly my new favourite film ever, really really good. Has anyone from here seen it? I did some research and apparently the opinions range from "I hate it" to "Brilliant. Hope she'll get the oscar shes nominated for Boys don't cry with Hilary Swanck, she was very convincing and definitely deserved the oscar. Touching film, that one |
Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is always a great movie to watch.

F.I.S.T
another all too rare example of Stallone being a good actor. |
Killer Klowns From Outer Space! LMAO.

It was fantastic and quite funny though Geoffery Rush will only be Captain Barbossa to me now LOL !! |
Licensed To Kill. Timmy Dalton really is a charisma free zone!

Not a movie, I know, but we've really gotten into Boardwalk Empire on the new Sky Atlantic channel...

The anti-hero with a heart of gold thing has been done to death in shows recently. I saw Black Swan the other day, really good and worth seeing. I like Aronofsky's work, especially in The Wrestler. |
The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex
Quite entertaining and visually impressive. Don't know if the movie was originally shot in black and white and colored and restored later as it is from 1939. It looked pretty good for its age. Nice colors and costumes. I would have liked to see more battle scenes though. |

Watched Equilibrium last night ... interesting concept, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Not a film i'd say run out and buy, but worth a watch if it comes on the telly and there's nothing else on. |

Watched the Expendables tonight, was ok
|
Air Force One was on last night so I watched it... Prefer the same concept with Kurt Russell - can't remember offhand what it's called - purely for the fact of Steven Seagal getting mullered and consequently being unable to singlehandedly save the world....

caught the last 3/4 of Shaun Of The Dead last night. The household craving for a cornetto is subsiding slowly.

sat and watched Pet Sematary again...cant wait till monday going to see "Paul"

Technically the last film we saw was about 20 minutes of Rocky Horror...doesn't matter how many times I've seen it or even whether I own it or not, if a Meat film is on I feel obliged to keep it on 'til I've seen him! |
 It.
Not watched that movie in a while. It's nowhere near as screwed up as the book  |

Tangled. Very funny - felt like classic Disney retooled for modern audiences. Beats any of the Shrek films over the head with a frying pan. The mouse house definitely still knows how to make em!
|
I've seen two this weekend
New Kids Turbo. It's the Dutch movie of the year. Funny stuff, especially because they blow up my town in the movie  Tron Legacy. I did like the first one, saw that in 1983 and a few times since. Tron Legacy was.... oh well, I like the first one. |
La frusta e il corpo - 1960s horror flick with Christopher Lee.
|
went to see Paul last night, very funny film, well worth seeing
|
Saw THE RITE and JUST GO WITH IT
Expected more from The Rite and expected less from Just Go With it......really enjoyed the Adam Sandler flick....it was fun. |
RED, on BluRay. Was very well cast and performed and quite entertaining but lacked any real sparkle.

I watched The Game recently.
Damn, I lost already! |
 Duets.
Not a bad time killer. |
Fitzcarraldo
Crazy masterpiece! :D One of Kinski's most brilliant performances but shooting with him must have been hell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yITx7txr-7M :bicker::angst: (I wonder what would have happened if he had taken part in Celebrity Apprentice.:p) |
Alien.
I still expect Sooty to appear in the chest exploding scene, damn you 80's comedy sketch show that I can't remember the name of (was it Not The Nine O'Clock News?) |
We really need to start me a "Last Movie You Slept Through" thread!!
Last film I watched (from start to finish!) was Run Fatboy Run...I really like that film, really makes me feel like I should, and could, get up off my arse and do something worthwhile...but I opted for a G&T and a Magnum instead  |
How to Lose Friends and Alienate people...such a funny film
|
The Illusionist.
Absolutely stunning. Straight into my top 20 favourite movies for sure. Loved it. Perfect score too. |

watched Paul again tonight..so funny..brilliant

True Grit... The re-make with Jeffrey Bridges... Well, it was hubby's birthday and he loves the original, (which I don't, so it was good of me to go, don't you think?) he seemed to enjoy this one too, but I've decided I shouldn't book cinema trips for his birthday anymore, since the last two haven't exactly been outstanding successes.....
Last year I booked tickets for Gran Torino at the Odeon Leicester Square, at £30ish, then managed to show up an hour after it started, thus year the automatic ticket machine processed my booking and ran out of paper when it came to print the tickets, and had cleared the order when refilled, so I had no tickets to get in!! Luckily a nice manager let us in without..... |
On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I really don't understand why so many 'Bond fans' rate it so highly. Yes it stays very close to the book, but as a film in it's own right it's pretty dull and George Lazenby is appallingly bad.
|
The most disappointing part of that movie was the ending.
|
Last two films (well ok one and half) that Lucy slept through were Scott Pilgrim Versus The World and Aliens.
The former is entertaining in a bizarre quirky way and the latter is a great (although somewhat dated) action movie, although the Aliens perhaps need to lay off the vicks vapour rub... Alien 3 is on tonight, so I can see someone getting a few hours extra kip ... |
The Illusionist is a great film
Saw True Grit and The Fighter yesterday, both really good. Matt Damon is brilliant in True Grit and Christian Bale and Amy Adams steal the show in the Fighter |

Great film |
Alice In Wonderland ~ Tim Burton-style ... featuring the deppie one. I love the bravery of Alice ... :D ...
|
Elvis The Early Years, been skeptical about this film and though Rose McGowen looked nothing like Ann-Margret and neither did the girl playing Priscilla it was good, I especially loved the army footage of the real Mr. Presley but all together this film was fair.

Watching The Untouchables for the umpteenth time....

One of my favourit Bond film |
Drive Angry 3D.
Crazy, bit crude at times and quite a bit of nudity, so you are warned. Fun though at times. Why the hell was Meat Loaf's Alive covered though? Why not just use the original? |
Black Swan
This was good but a bit weird and confusing in parts !! |
Rocky IV
|
Still Alice In Wonderland for me ... I really need to catch up on some film watching !!! ... but don't I ALWAYS say that ? I'm been a bit obsessed with a new to me show, Criminal Minds and watching it obsessively and compulsively... lol ...
|
The Other Guys.
Very irreverant and off the wall, with far too many one liners to remember. |
 I've got a couple of movies on DVD waiting to be watched (the classic Westworld, and 1 Hour Photo, it'll be interesting to see Robin Williams in a serious role) but at the moment Jo and I are working our way back through the TV series Supernatural from season 1, so they'll have to wait until we've got through to the end of season 5 lol.

Happy Happy HAPPY Saturday, meatie peeps !!!
The last film I watched was this morning, From Hell starring the deppie one. I think this is the film that made me sit bolt upright and ask... "Who's THAT ?" ... lol ... I think the first deppie film I saw was Secret Window and I only watched that because it was based on a Stephen King book. I wasn't too impressed and felt it easily could have been a made-for-tv film. Then I saw From Hell and went back to Secret Window to get a better appreciation for "Who's THAT?" ... lol ... yummy ... I'm really looking forward to the next adventure for Captain Jack !!! ... :D ...
Wingers are crossed we'll be getting some movie watching in this weekend and next week as mother-in-law is off to visit a friend for about a week. She's not open to anything new in movies unless it concerns a dog or Bruce Willis/ Steven Segal / Mel Gibson AND Danny Glover blowing things up... I think you get the picture here... hahaha ... There's a couple oldies, but goodies I'll be opening beloved's mind to... ie Goodfellas (which I could watch over and over ... LOVE the way the soundtrack suits the action ) and Any Given Sunday ... xo |
The King's Speech, well done for Colin Firth
|
Run Fat Boy Run..into comedy"s at the moment,i think Simon Pegg is class
|
An old classic starring Judy Garland, Meet Me In St. Louis, I do love this film and I like the part where she beats up her neighbour after her little sister falsely accuses him of hitting her and after hitting and biting him she says;
"If it's one thing I hate, loath and despise it's a bully !" Then storms off.. Classic  ! |
X Men 1 - 3 + Wolverine! 1 and 2 are class, 3 and 4 are good popcorn entertainment.

X Files: I Want To Believe

Then, at home, I've seen Invictus and The Good German
|
The Elephantman

 Finally got round to seeing Manhunter.
Brian Cox is one of my favourite actors, and I liked his performace in this film, but i've got to give AH full credit for the creepiest Lecter 8) Anyone seen Hannibal Rising? |
Quote:
|
 I've not read the book either.
I take it that that's not too hot either? |
It is utterly bad.
1st, it reads exactly like a cheap cash in B movie screenplay. 2nd, it doesn't cover the really interesting bit which would be seeing Lector in his practice begining to kill people regularly and then getting caught. Utterly forgettable, commercial trash. In a sense, the film is a very good adaptation of it, in that it is also utterly forgettable commercial trash. Not sure if I'm writing forgettable correctly there, but I can't be bothered to go back and correct it either way ;) |
What he said.
Both the books Hannibal and Hannibal Rising are clearly written to be made into films (in the same way that the much hyped The Lost Symbol from Dan Brown is also). Average at best, but they really should have left it where they did with Silence Of The Lambs and Red Dragon/Manhunter. |
Ohhh my god Hannibal Rising....there's a couple of hours of our lives we'll never get back! I actually can't comment on how bad or good it was because the fake Russian accents were so hideous that I cannot tell you a single thing that happened in that film, in fact I think I ended up asleep :?
|
 Dod Sno (Dead Snow).
Norweigian with English subtitles, it's the story of a group of friends who go on an Easter break at a cabin, only to meet some nasty zombies of dead SS men who used to beat up the locals during the war. Not a film for the squeamish, lots of blood and gore. One of the characters wears a Braindead T shirt, and I don't doubt that the film makers are fans. Daft but entertaining. |
