it's been a busy e36 day, we have got the new water pump, thermostat and housing fitted. coolant refresh, new power steering pump on with fluid refresh, and as we didn't do it in april, gearbox oil replaced. so all preventative maintenance and servicing complete.

and then i mot'd it.

duke knooby 29 Aug 2017 00:58

yodel is delivering the parcel

oh well, fingers crossed

duke knooby 05 Sep 2017 00:24

1, yodel did great, i was worried for nothing
2, why the car's decided to leak out all the power steering fluid just after getting a new pump has annoyed me.

Red Square has been placed on red alert. World Cup security chiefs were warned as Putes muffled on his muffin that old Soviet saying "Comrades, the Irish are coming"

Can we get a thread for the show Ghost Wars? I was watching it tonight cause I heard Kim Coates was going to be in the series. I heard a familiar voice call a guy "Freak" and there was Meat Loaf. I didn't know he was going to be on the show. So far can't tell if he's a good guy or a bad guy, just kinda playing the jerk in the town. Not downing the man since he's playing it pretty cool. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.
So far the show is pretty cool and looking to be pretty interesting. It's on SYFY channel Thursday 10pm, here in the states.

Here's a short article and interview (audio) about the "Loudness Wars": https://www.npr.org/2009/12/31/12211...c-sounds-worse

We actually had a thread about this awhile back in regards to Meat's records:

PanicLord 25 Feb 2018 20:22

It's a bit like when the adverts come on telly and BLAM the volume is loud and continuous and relentless. It can be exhausting to listen to. Music, especially music with drama in, has natural variation of loudness as part of the tune, part of the experience. A good recent example is From Now On from The Greatest Showman. Starts extremely quiet, builds to a crescendo and ends softly. Make it all the same volume and you lose all that.

so, it's on its way from South Atlanta, am i wrong in thinking i've paid tax on the part to the US market, will have to pay vat to the uk market, pay import tax to the eu, and who knows what other fees, then claim the us tax back?

and as the product went from the eu to the us, back to the eu... is it even subject to eu import tax?

I stopped watching Snooker just after the Stephen Hendry domination. Used to be a Steve Davis fan in the 80's and a Hendry fan in the 90's. Only times I saw something Snooker related since, was when Ronnie O'Sullivan misbehaved again.

Stumbled upon the WC final because I saw these two legends on the table, and at first I thought it was an exhibition or veterans tournament. Very surprised to see it was the WC. Old times relived and I wished both could win the title. Great stuff. Can't remember when I last watched a complete snooker match but this was worth it. What a comeback and what a great recovery!

I think my first recollection of watching snooker on TV was Fred at the tender age of 64 reaching the world semis having dispatched john virgo and your owm dennis taylor en route.
A fabulous effort from the old codger whose career started in the year of the great depression.
A three time world champ who made steady eddie charlton's play look reckless.
He was a snooker player's snooker player.
My hero.
