I've been wondering for a while now if the settled weather of recent weeks is due to the lack of aircraft in the skies...
Nothing to do with aircraft emissions, purely the act of them pushing through the air. Like when a truck or bus drives by someone standing on the foothpath, they experience an initial force from the air displaced, and a lull in the aftermath, only in this example, potentially magnified and exaggerated, by the speed, volume and number of aircraft in the upper atmosphere. who knows? |
I've also been wondering how much of a fine the ECJ will decide to impose on the UK for an alleged misapplication of the Terminal Markets Order 1973...
We should know more on Thursday. |

Some artists are either incredibly stupid or incredible naive.
As a fan of an artist, I was literally asked to donate to a gofundme page that is wanting to abolish the police. Lockdown has clearly fried some braincells. Unlike on Facebook seems the best route if the artist cannot be critical of dodgy "charities". |
I can now confirm with 100% certainty I have found my uncles last tractor.
I got a lovely reply from a lady who worked at the dealership at the time (and still does over 35 years later), who was able to provide me with details that matched the tractor. Her reply really made my day on so many levels. |
missed me?

PUBS
OPENING THIS WEEKEND! REJOICE. |
and in a further update on what's possibly the longest attempt in history to buy a tractor I don't need, have no use for and nowhere to store it...
I've now been offered a space in a shed... One of the biggest obstacles is overcome! (It should be said, I've no idea if the seller still has it, I haven't spoken to him since February) |
Congratulations Wycombe and Mr Chairboys
Wherever he may be. 👍 |
Apparently I'm required to wear a face mask in work from next week, even though there's no legal reason to, no scientific reason to, and a potential increase in health risk from doing so.
hmmmm |
first pint of guinness since march today :)

Has any recording or writing toward 13 Roads to Bat started. Has anything been spoken about this since March? I hope for another album.
|
I hope for a new waistline
Lockdown has been unkind. |
The offer's gone in. Just sit back and wait.

I bought a new CD player today...
It would've been wrong not to at that price. |

dusted off the collectors edition cd for a second playback, and it does sound like bat also played hang cool cd, and i was close to turning it off as it was borderline unlistenable at times due to the in your face volume. |
I put an offer on the tractor today, he's to speak to somebody else about it, then he'll let me know in a few days.
He told me it's been parked outside since March... there's a months worth of rain due tomorrow, the sunroof is missing, along with the bottom half of one the doors, so it'll be even worse than when I last saw it. |
they've accepted my offer on condition they can keep the rear wheels... the only valuable bit on it.
my offer was for the tractor as it stands, not tractor less rear wheels... and so it goes on |

My assumption is he's just trying to get the most he can for it. I offered current market price, but that's about 600 less than I think he was offered last year. I remember when we were talking about it in february, he said if he was to break the tractor for parts, he thought he'd get around 1200 for the wheels and tyres, I thought he'd get about 800 though I didn't tell him that.
As you can imagine, I don't happen to have a couple of spare tractor wheels and tyres lying at my arse, so I'd have to buy some, and drop my offer to accomodate the extra expense. First local quote for a pair of rims was 250 quid, then tyres are needed on top. So I imagine it'll come down to further negotiations for it as it sits. It's not on it's original rims anymore, it's on bigger ones, and I must admit, I like the bigger ones, so we'll see. He's in no rush, I'm in no rush Shame it wasn't car rims, for I'm sure I must have about 40 of different sizes kicking about |
Goodbyes are hard, especially when you've worked alongside some of these people for a very long time. I'm really gonna miss them, both as friends and colleagues.
|
i'd a bit of a play with the galaxy z fold 2 earlier today... an impressive bit of kit
|
350 quid for a pair of goodyear tractor tyres, with similar tread, at a dealer 40 miles up the road.
I've been spot on with my valuation, and fair. |
I think an old man in a chair has been spot on.

there's something seriously wrong with the covid test results data... whether it's false positives, false negatives, incompetence, bad modelling, negligence or just criminal falsification. Is it even mathematically probable to have produced the spikes that have occured??? is it not much more likely to have errors in the data, or errors in the interpretation of the data. somebody please question the data, question the results, question the spikes before the economy and health service get shut down again

I was staggered to learn that according to the ONS in England and Wales alone, between December 2014 and March 2015 there were 44,000 excess winter deaths.
Source... https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulat...000/2015-11-25 Yet there was no need for lockdowns, social distancing or silly masks back then. When will this madness end? |
I finally gave in to temptation and bought the bat 2 picture disc double lp

The likes of what Michelle Obama said about making it even easier to vote after congratulating Biden/Harris I think is scary: Quote:
The mail in voting, EVEN IF FAIR, heavily suited the democrat / liberal ticket. To simply disenfranchise conservative voters who mostly only come out on election day is disturbing. Furthermore in person voting could easily still have happened I believe during this pandemic with measures and social distancing in place. Have the voting stations open for 24 hours for several days if you have to. Glad we didn't have an election in the UK this year. |
Brisbane to Coventry, about a week, proceed through customs and onto Belfast mail centre, a further 5 days
and for the last 4 days my parcel has been sitting in the parcel force Belfast depot, waiting for them to write to me, asking me to pay a vat bill and service charge, before they will deliver. For me to then have to fill in a customs declaration, to reclaim the vat and service charge that were never applicable to this purchase in the first place So, give or take, 7 days to travel from Oz to the Uk, and 11 days to travel from the uk to the uk. Bureaucracy and incompetence slows everything down |
has it really been 25 years since welcome to the neighbourhood?

WTTN an album of many great moments. Many surprises. I think the album stands with the Bat 1 and 2. Different world but much greatness. Some classic rock and roll with theatrical moments. Some might say they rushed when recording the record. I believe the album is fine, and the cover art kinda reminds me of CHSIb cover art in some ways.

It really is feeling like 2009 again, we had Professor Neil Ferguson predicting a worst case scenario of 65000 deaths from swine flu, and a best case scenario of 3100 deaths. In the end swine flu killed 457 people. We had the brand new vaccine Pandemrix, given to 6M people in the UK. The vaccine had been approved by the European medicines agency for use across the EU, despite minimal clinical trials. The manufacturer, GSK was given an indemnity by the UK Government, yet a major study (after the event) by the UK Health Protection Agency (now PHE) found around one in every 55,000 jabs led to narcolepsy.
If memory serves from the Pfizer press release, their vaccine has been extensively tested on approximately 43,000 people. If memory also serves, Pfizer set a record for the largest health care fraud settlement, and the largest criminal fine of any kind with 2.3Bn dollars in 2009. And as a side note, Sir Patrick Vallance joined GSK in May 2006 as Head of Drug Discovery. Forgive me for wanting more information to try and make a better informed decision, but all I am hearing on the news tonight is this is an apparent wonder cure. Someone please show us the evidence, show us the numbers, show us the peer reviewed findings, not just hyberbole, not just one side of the debate. |
This latest lockdown lunacy is really starting to anger me.
|
Quote:
It ends in total depression. :( |
There are two quite well known outcomes from lockdowns, number one they don't work, and number two, they cause more harm than good.
A less well known outcome from this latest lockdown, is I'm getting the festive period off for once. They're working hard to persuade me that this lunacy is good. Scaremongering didn't work. Lies didn't work. Bribes haven't worked. But it's that time of the year, time to wish all of the mlukfc family a merry christmas, happy new year, and very best wishes for the future, whatever happens, keep safe, be happy. |
That's an interesting comment on the bbc news website about the lady getting her follow up, 2nd dose of the pfizer vaccine.
quote: The patient was "now recovering well" after her second jab Given the multitude of reports of either adverse reactions, or health impact events** **unable to perform normal daily activities, unable to work, required care from doctor or health care professional as quoted from the cdc.gov website I hope she's ok, and I haven't misinterpreted the meaning. I do tend to overthink things. |
I was interested to read this morning in an article titled Oxford vaccine regulatory authorisation: FAQ
"This efficacy result is based on data from younger (18–55 years old) adults – how do you know that it is safe for older adults? The MHRA have approved this vaccine and have come to the conclusion that the dosing schedule can remain the same for these groups, we know further results are due in the next couple of months and will build on existing knowledge for older adults." Link for the above.. https://www.research.ox.ac.uk/Articl...regulatory-faq Which had me wondering what have the MHRA published about this? So a quick visit to the government website revealed the following... "Elderly population Efficacy and safety data are currently limited in individuals ≥65 years of age (see sections 4.8 and 5.1). No dosage adjustment is required. Paediatric population The safety and efficacy of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca in children and adolescents (aged <18 years old) have not yet been established. No data are available." and demographics quoted as... "Baseline demographics were well balanced across COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca and control treatment groups. Overall, among the participants who received COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, 94.1% of participants were 18 to 64 years old (with 5.9% aged 65 or older); 60.7% of subjects were female; 82.8% were White, 4.6% were Asian, and 4.4% were Black. A total of 2,070 (35.6%) participants had at least one pre-existing comorbidity (defined as a BMI ≥30 kg/m2, cardiovascular disorder, respiratory disease or diabetes). The median follow-up time post-dose 1 and post-dose 2 was 132 days and 63 days, respectively." Full link to the above information... https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ne-astrazeneca And yet the government is rolling this out first to the elderly and vulnerable? Seems to me, this roll out is going to be the largest, virtually untested drug trial in the history of the UK |
And three more things...
1, I'm glad I decided to just copy and paste most of the above, or I'd still be typing it out in an hours time. 2, Whomever typed/published the Oxford FAQ above should've used a computer with a working space key. 3, More lock down lunacy for all. |
I only found the Northern Ireland daily, and cumulative Covid-19 stats today.
And page 4, the Covid-19 Testing Overview really concerns me. It very kindly releases separate pillar 1, pillar 2 and finally combined test statistics And the positive test rate for pillar 2 is Considerably, Exponentially higher than for pillar 1 tests. I might actually (for the first time ever) have to write to an MP to seek some answers. |
That's been 72 hours without alcohol, and over a weekend too.
Long time since I did that. |
Keep rocking everyone!!

I couldn't believe the total deaths registered chart (for England and Wales) when I looked at it today... There has been a massive spike in deaths recorded in England and Wales this last few weeks. The jump on the chart was so big, I didn't believe it, and looked up the figures myself on the ONS. Between beginning of September and 1st of January the total weekly deaths recorded in England and Wales have fluctuated between 8k to 13k per week...
December to January figures 04/12/20 12,303 11/12/20 12,292 18/12/20 13,011 25/12/20 11,520 01/01/21 10,069 And then the total death rate goes nuts 08/01/21 17,751 15/01/21 18,042 22/01/01 18,676 Data sources.. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulat...nglandandwales What has caused the massive spike in deaths? Why is it affecting the elderly more in January than December? And why haven't the media investigated? |
I wonder will the vaccines end up killing more people than the virus did.
|
Quote:
|
I'm gonna count that as 6 weeks booze free
|
We've pretty much got to the end of the tractor negotiations, so it's either gonna happen in the next couple of weeks, or never..
Another reason to apply old school drinking and thinking methods |
And I'm off the opinion, if you're at virtually no risk of dying from covid 19, the vaccines will be effective, if you're in an at risk category, probably best to hold off.

I now own a tractor. (can't wait till my uncle gets to see it again, in person for the first time in over 30 years) :D |
Finally!! :)
|
That’s been over 6 months virtually booze free, I’ve impressed myself!
And the tractor story is getting more and more into the realms of what’s the chances of that... Firstly, finding it Secondly, lady at the dealership still working there, and able to confirm it as the one supplied to my uncle. Thirdly, The former training manager at the factory, who had to reconcile details of over 600 tractors at the time of the factory closure, has details of only one tractor the same model as mine... and it’s my one. Fourthly and finally, I bought a panel on eBay, which when I contacted the seller about sourcing other panels, turns out he used to work at the dealership that supplied my tractor, and he even remembered it. It’s almost as if it was destiny! |
