Yeah, Sarge, I've been wondering about Laurie's piece as well. No tweets about it. It could be one of those closed surprises that we will unwrap when the CD hits the store shelves or when it's avail. on I-tunes for those peeps that are downloading.

There was a tweet a while ago about a song that will make us cry. I'm wondering if that is piano-driven. Or one of the duets with Patti (that we didn't hear) could be piano-oriented. My mind is wandering, but I really like the guitars in all the clips. My immediate thought is that this CD is going to be complex but complete.

I dunno' Sarge, what's your spin on it?

Me three.

Crossing my fingers that Meat tweets w/Hugh. That would be special to see the two working together again. We've been lucky enough to see CC, Patti, Georgia, Randy, et. al, when we were hoping to see them in studio. If Hugh is game, maybe Meat will be able to get a tweet out for us to salivate/ponder over. LOL. It is surreal to me when my TV world (Hugh) and music world (Meat) collide like this.

Sounds like things are coming together nicely. I would also love to see a Meat & Hugh tweet!

To QUOTE Hugh Laurie "As I look around my friends’ tweets I see banality on all sides. I don’t understand the purpose of it,"

I tend to agree with him on the whole .. However, Meat doesn't use his Twitter page for banal chatting does he? He uses it, presumably as a substitute for a well maintained official website, to keep in touch with his fans and entertain them with posted videos .. and I would think Hugh Laurie would understand that.

Ah, but Meat's tweets are video tweets and definitely not banal. I'm sure Meat can charismatically promote the idea to Hugh enough to agree to be part of his twitter. Still crossing fingers.

That's true, but I doubt Hugh Laurie follows was thinking of Meat when he made that quote and I doubt that he 'follows' him on twitter to know whether he does or doesn't. I think Hugh is saying that for the most part Twitter is full of shit, which he wouldn't be far wrong.

Right on all counts. If I wasn't "following" Meat on twitter, I wouldn't even bother with it. Funny thing is, Meat probably doesn't even realize he's a very credible person to follow in a not so credible venue.

If it happens at all, it would be great to see Hugh and Meat in a simple introduction tweet (as anyone else who had input on this project) or any studio time they can tweet out. Anyway, it's only a few more days away. We'll know soon enough.

That's an interesting idea, Suzie. Since there are two duets with Patti, maybe one is a slow song and the other is uptempo.

And Hugh is in too!

Oh I'm sure he wasn't, and I agree he's not far off the mark in general re Twitter. I was just saying that despite the fact Hugh Laurie is stunned by the banality of much of what's put on Twitter, should Meat want to do a short clip with him when he's in the studio I think he'd see that as different and acceptable.

Same here Suzie, I had no interest in Twitter or joining it before Meat joined it and probably won't bother with it when he stops, presumably when the new site is up and running he won't have any need for it any more.

I agree Caryl, I think Hugh would probably be agreeable to appearing in a short introductory video Tweet. William Shatner and various others have appeared in them.

I'm the same way ... I've gotten more used to Facebook, and prefer it to Twiiter :-)
But hopefully Meat will still use it to post quick updates (or links to videos) even after the new site is up and running.
