I don't know about anyone else, but I got mine through Amazon.com :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o04_s00_i00

but it looks like I got the last copy because it's temporarily out of stock now

Adje 29 Nov 2012 02:11

Several sites have it:
Meat on BluRay on Madman

Get Price also has it

And if you go to the amazon link you see that there is still 1 available below the 'temporarily out of stock' message ( 2 new from $31.48) It says 2 but only one has it in stock. SO if you want it better be sure you get there first ;-)

Got mine off DVD4music.com but only paid £16.99 now its gone upto £34.95, unsure why, contacted them via email yesterday and they replied saying its been shipped from Australia so I presume thats the only territory it was released on Blu-ray.

I'm not sure what audio tracks are on the bluray. The last link says DTS-HD but I heard someone say it's only DD 5.1 sound like the DVD. If someone has the Blu, can he/she please tell me what the specs are? :-)

anotherday 29 Nov 2012 20:27

Great DVD.

WOW. blown away by MEAT and the BAND. I enjoyed every SONG for what it was. I will probably watch it again tonight.

Did anyone else have "lines" running on their screen during certain parts of the dvd? I found it sad to waste such great footage and then have it ruined by the poor quality :(.

BUT THE DVD IS GREAT MEATY. you should be PROUD

I found that in parts the picture appeared a bit pixellated. It was the only thing I was a bit disappointed with. I think was beyond Meat's control and he should be proud of it. He's released a product that a lot of fans have really enjoyed and he and the band were spot-on.

An awesome DVD! Holy smokes, every angle, every sweep, every close up and colour. Every note, every instrument, everything. A lot of funny moments, for example SPOILER when Lil Jon comes on the big screen. Hysterical! And at the same time, a clever insightful, fun rap. So much of Patti on vocals, this was a treat. The many faces of Meat and band it was just a real cool two hours. I cannot wait to hear this on the right stereo ;) I like Ginny in this DVD, her part really fits into to the set, imo. The way its filmed goes with the music. I like how *SPOILER* Paul plays the guitar at the beginning of RockNRollDreams. Reminds me of PEI, in Charlottetown being roughly a metre away from him. I haven't had a chance to see the interview yet, but that's okay. The only thing that I would have like to seen is John play a little more, like a solo ;)
And maybe some more opportunities to hear some bass. Kinda how like Song Of Madness touched upon last year.
It was just great, and aside from that picking up another Hang Cool Teddy Bear last weekend, I am smiling.

Oh my the little red hats are back ;)

Its DTS-MA so it is HD, and picture quality is excellent on the Blu-Ray also :D

ive finally got to watch the bog standard dvd... my opinion, a great addition to any meat fans collection

i played it on a decent dvd player, through a decent crt tv, using a decent scart cable, and saw no picture issues at all. picture quality was very good, as was colour, only funny moments were a few shakey camera shots lol

a good dvd :)

Elijah's way 04 Feb 2013 06:26

I tried to watch it again but the quality is so bad that I just can't. I refuse to believe that Meat watched and approved the release of the sloppy work the people done on this. I just wonder if the Blu Ray is any better!?

melon 04 Feb 2013 07:08

I recon its all down to the tv you're watching it on. Like I said, it was good on one of my TVs and not so good on the other

if it did have something to do with the tv (I think it's ridiculous for anyone to suggest that) it would look great on mine because I have a LG plasma and a sony blu ray player. And not only that I watched some of it on a friends tv and it looked just as bad, it's a samsung LCD with a sony blu ray player so it's most difantly NOT the tv!!! It's the DVD!!!

No other DVD looks as bad as this one does. 3 bats live and MSO looks like Blu Ray compared to this.

Monstro 04 Feb 2013 09:26

Well I finally had a copy delivered, watched thru a dirt cheap flatscreen tv on a £17 Sainsbury's DVD player and can't see what people are getting upset over, no problems with picture quality. To be sure I watched thru laptop and again no problems.

I'm wondering if it could be something like a couple of bad batches or something because some people seem to be reporting problems when others are saying that everything is fine.

When I've watched the copy I bought from HMV on release day, there has definately been a poor quality picture at times during the show when I've watched it on my computers. Perhaps it's worth opening the other copy I have (which was ordered from Amazon) to see if it's still an issue.

robgomm 04 Feb 2013 13:31

Looks fine to me. I think as Jenna said maybe there was just a bad batch or something, as there are lots of people here saying the quality looks fine.

Cherry.Loaf 04 Feb 2013 16:19

I'm curious now I'm going to re-watch mine and see if it's noticeable

Adje 04 Feb 2013 16:31

The compression of the video is poor. That's what bothers some of the people, including me. It's clearly a production mistake. It doesn't have to do anything with the copy you have.

I watched the DVD a few weeks ago and it still bothers me. (Equally much as the lack of a DTS track and the amount of poor editing choices) I don't mind that people are fine wit a low quality image (and it can even look decent if you adjust your tv settings) but if they advertised this with (Ohh we used HD cameras to give you the best home experience) and then convert it terrible, yeah, it bothers me a lot.

As I said before, the concert and Meat Loaf were too good to get such a poor DVD release. ConcertOne messed up. Simple is that.

I would tend to agree with this statement. Meat was decent, and the band was on fire, but the video production was incredibly poor.

There are too many shots of peoples asses, and the back of people heads and random shots during band members solos that it's just a complete mess in terms of video editing

I would never buy another concert one release after seeing this, I. Basically only use the CD

Well I'm sorry, may seem "Ridiculous" to you, but I can only comment on what I see, and that is one TV playing it properly, one not and ALOT of different comments re the quality.

Can't believe this thread is still alive to be honest

Sebastian. 04 Feb 2013 16:50

Watched it on 22'' LCD PC screen and a 42'' LCD TV. No problems as at all. Plan to watch it on a 60'' LCD with surround sound when I go out to Saudi. MSO rocked on that!

That's my issue with the DVD, can almost picture the bloke standing in front of a bank of monitors......
"Annnnnnd camera one...now three..........................., five......, 2, 4, hold it hold it 6,7,4,5,2,4!!!!" poor ickle sound engineer with repetitive strain injury at the desk lol

The picture on my dvd was often pixelated on my computer and dvd player. That didn't bother me too much, but the editing did. Like Mark said, it was a mess. The shots of people's rears is really annoying. On 2 Out of 3, Meat told Danny to play and they put a close up of Randy. Meat told Justin to play and they put another close up of Randy. I hear Patti and Justin's voices on 2 Out of 3, but the close ups are of Ginny and Randy. Concert One didn't bother to learn the band members and their roles or the dynamics of Meat's show.

stretch37 28 May 2013 23:17

bump time....finally ordered the DVD from Amazon.ca, expecting it today! This'll be my first time watching the thing. Pretty stoked :-) Can't wait to finally have the ability to even have an opinion on it. From what I've seen, its far better than 3 Bats, not quite as good as MSO in some ways, but better in others.

Wario 29 May 2013 00:36

:)) meat should get me to edit the next DVD

tonyloaf 29 May 2013 07:46

Would be a lot quicker lol

Wario 29 May 2013 08:24

Ya, I could most certainly get the edit done in a fair three or four months.

Ah but would that give you enough time to make an easteregg with a live version of Masculine?

Although I feel Meat's energy is over flowing with emotion, I think that on the whole the set list was pretty weak. A little disjointed with no sole album backing it, I would prefer to hear All of Me or Live Or Die on there for a little HIAHB flavor but I think it was mostly due to the critics being too hard on that album that he decided to take apart this tour set list.

I really would have preferred the Mad Mad World Tour set list to this one.

Runnin' For The Red Light seems like a worthy show starter.

Evil One 30 May 2013 08:39

All Of Me was supposed to be in the show but Meat chickened out at the last minute. Mercury Blues was meant to be but there was a problem with the audio. Also lots of talk about Patrick was edited out.

And now we have brilliant DVD  (to me - on the same level as MSO).

Adje 22 Jun 2013 18:41

Watched the BluRay version today.

Sound and picture quality are much much better. It sounds and it looks like it should. No pixelation or bad compression noticable and the sound is much clearer and dynamic.

... now if they only could re-edit it

Unfortunately, after watching it alone friday night, I have to correct myself. Although there are no pixelation errors, the BluRay suffers from a large amount of noise and dust. But only from 3 camera's/angles. It's so bad that at first I thought I had a broken HDMI cable connected. But the same issues remain on my Pioneer, Phillips and Sony BluRay players.

Suprisingly the 3Bats BluRay has much better video quality than this -HD recorded and more recent- concert.

So basically, if you have the DVD and are happy with the sound of that then the BluRay has no real value. DVD video is poor but the BluRay video has issues that doesn't give you an upgrade on the DVD.

As for audio, BluRay is superior over the DVD.

tonyloaf 13 Oct 2014 16:17

now THIS I agree with.

loaferman61 15 Oct 2014 20:55

From what I saw everything by ConcertOne was a disaster. This is the most poorly lighted DVD from modern times I have ever seen. I can barely stand to watch it. I also still wonder how much of the actual live performance was totally live as filmed and how much was dubbed or sweetened or whatever you want to call it. At times Meat just doesn't sound quite like himself, but the darkness at least made it easy to cover any overdubs or adjustments- if any were done- from being easily seen.

I just pray that a definitive live DVD filmed to blu-ray and properly lighted is done before it is too late and that Meat feels well when it is filmed because I know he had been treated by doctors during the time frame of the GP DVD.
