When we have time enough,
To sit on river banks at dusk,
To skip stones across the lake,
To lie here till the morning breaks,
Then I'll be happy.

When the only lights to be seen at night,
Are the luminous stars that glow so bright,
When the effervecent champagne moon,
Sings an eternal symphonic tune,
Then I'll be happy.

How to be Happy

Accept that every change in life, however positive, brings with it some kind of loss. Change is often something we resist initially, because it's so much easier to stay with the familiar than stepping into the unknown. If you can consider and accept knowledge, the losses, won't have a nasty habit of ambushing you. Change is necessary for us to evolve as people. Try to embrace it.

Eternity is only the beginning

Save your life, because you've only got one.

Bren 31 Oct 2003 22:43

I will search wherever Life may take me
I will search until i find my dream
Yes i will find my dream.

I will search
Life's many-mirrored pathways
Where the light always reflects and bends
distorting our vision of the future
that we seek to comprehend.

I will search
through the softly turning seasons
through the times of love and hate
through our world's maze of confusion
that man for himself creates.

I will search
within man's self-made city cage
where he is chained always to work for Time
and i will search the wild and lonely ways
until i find this dream of mine.

I will search wherever Life may take me
I will search until i find my dream.

Like this Bren, though for some reason it makes me feel sad.

This One's For You

These words are for you
Whoever you may be
May you read these words and know
That they are for you and you alone

The sky will never crumble
It lies on a pillar of hope
The mountains will never fall
They're propped on the strength of your heart

As long as you read these words
You'll be safe from any harm
As long as you know that someone cares
They can't touch a hair on your head

So know that this one's for you
And you'll never be alone

Bren 02 Nov 2003 23:39

That's beautiful Eyeore :D

Whoever fights the monsters should see to it that in the process he/she does not become a monster. And when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time, and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle. Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

dottie 06 Nov 2003 15:58

Fantastic Bart

Now I did post originally Shakespeare - honestly and truthfully - but then after some research found something by William Faulkner, have asked Bren to check this out for me. I'm puzzled :!:

Bart 06 Nov 2003 16:31

do you know from whom it is? I bet you do! :D

dottie 06 Nov 2003 19:00

The Sound and the Fury - William Faulkner

dottie 06 Nov 2003 22:35

Hey Bart, I feel a prune but I did honestly initially write shakespeare, it was in the back of my mind, couldn't remember which play, but deleted it because I then found this poem by William Faulkner with same line :o

Taking his title from a soliloquy in Shakespeare’s Macbeth which refers to life as “a tale told by an idiot,” Faulkner called the novel The Sound and the Fury.
hope this helps
