Yes, despite loaferman61's displeasure , I thought it was :-)

Mark had posted here on Friday that he wasn't going to buy the DVD, and today that he had watched it on his computer. Rather than make an assumption I simply asked the question, because bootlegs seem usually not to be great quality, and I was and am dismayed if it has been bootlegged onto the net even before its release date.

The review is positive. I can't wait to watch the DVD, tomorrow I hope, and put the CD in my car.

I do not feel it is legitimate to basically imply that someone has done something that you yourself have called theft, just MHO. It is basically saying so did you steal that? Legitimate - maybe, tacky IMO yes.

CarylB 01 Oct 2012 20:16

I implied nothing. I asked, and have explained why I asked. Yes, I consider bootlegs theft, many on here don't.

The question was imo legitimate and not "tacky" given the information I could see .. ie a post saying he would not be buying it, which was actually made on Saturday rather than Friday.

Sometimes people, myself included, embellish and or fib when they are writing while in a huff. An truthfully it's not a big deal that you or anyone else asked the question. I'm over it, and I confess my sins as such.

Please, we have gone around and around over the same thing...please let it go and move on before this gets the old lock put on it?

Question for people who have gotten the package...any difference in the DVD and CD versions of the songs that you can tell?

jessrover 01 Oct 2012 20:52

I havn't had chance to watch all the dvd but what I have seen so far is brilliant. I just need to invest in a really large tv and then I would feel like I was actually at the concert. Keep up the great work Meat, I hope we get to see you soon.:D

YTTW has obviously had the speech cut. But all the other osngs have the sound effects/extras that are on the DVD.

Took words was cut on the CD, no banter with the crowd on there.

I would have to watch again but the CD version of All Revved Up seemed like It may have been shortened a well but I will have to double check. Other than that its the same

Region free it is, Amazon UK looks to be cheapest at 9 pounds

Okay, I am just going to speak from wisdom here because I have seen this go down time after time... The super duper hard core fans from around the world will all jump the bandwagon and purchase from the UK retailers. The sales will slump around the rest of the world, and the record company will see sagging sales elsewhere and this will affect future product from Meat Loaf. It is simple economics here.

I agree, but such is the woes of having multiple staggered release dates. Especially when they were initially touting a single, simultaneous world wide release

Watching it through, my overwhelming thought is that it feels like being at a Meat Loaf concert - IMO this is the first of Meat's live releases to replicate that feeling of being there. The lighting and the sound mix are the difference in doing this, and are both are truly great.

Thanks Meat for another top notch release to add to the ol' collection. It was well worth the wait.

Mark, Go back and listen to the original melody of Hot Patooie it does not go up the line you thought was yelling I went for something and didn't make it. so it was spoken . I was testing my high end always do on the 1st song . I do now on Red light. Just to know where my voice is for the rest of the show. I couldn't hit it that night, so it was spoken or as you put it screamed but there are really great singing moments on this DVD , not everything is perfect but some parts are great.

mikeloaf 01 Oct 2012 23:32

I'm looking forward to the post man tomorrow it's going to be so exiting to put the DVD on!

Dave 01 Oct 2012 23:36

Can I say again, it is amazing to get the first-hand input from Meat himself on this forum?

mikeloaf 01 Oct 2012 23:37

Yeah it is great!

loaferman61 01 Oct 2012 23:38

Meat, any idea on the mysterious constantly shifting US release dates? According to Amazon USA they are now up to Thanksgiving. I switched my order to Amazon.UK at twice the price to get it mid-October. I want to go on a rant about the distributor, but maybe there is a reason.

mikeloaf 01 Oct 2012 23:39

What I have learn't is that the artist has little input to the distribution or price of their product.

Fire Ball 01 Oct 2012 23:40

THe CD

There was never going to be a CD, but they threw it in at the last moment... They had the right in the contract as bonus material. They could not sell it as a CD. If we would have known in time, there were things Paul and I would have changed . It is what it is . I do wish We had control over everything thing, but we don't. No Jim and I never got paid for Bat, well some but not what we are owed , not even close , they owe us over 20 million dollars.

As well as this being yet another 6 week delay on the US release which puts it shipping Thanksgiving time and will no doubt delay shipping time due to the holiday and Christmas shopping. I wonder if they think a holiday season release is going to sell more? I can say they have frustrated the hell out of a willing and waiting customer. At least I should get it mid-October rather than late November since it is region free and I can get it from the UK.

Fire Ball 01 Oct 2012 23:44

Yes, they had a deal in the US but it fell through. They are making separate deals in each country. Because Sony US blew HIAHB so bad they are having Problems. If they keep having so many problems in the US I'm going to call Rob Cavallo.
