LucyK! 27 Feb 2007 19:53

Can't disagree there...Seize The Night...

AndyK 27 Feb 2007 20:48

Much prefer the shorter snappier verison, think it would have more success ...

duke knooby 27 Feb 2007 21:08

that line would explain what happened to nora though

RadioMaster 27 Feb 2007 21:34

:cheer:
nice evening

The Flying Mouse 27 Feb 2007 23:21

 How the hell do you get an Italian vampire with a name like VON Krolock??????

Crawford is a complete git for pulling that one

Although he sounds much better than Crawf*ckup, not even Steve Barton is pleasant to listen to faking in an Italian accent when he talks.

Thankfully the daft voice is completly absent when he sings.

RadioMaster 27 Feb 2007 23:24

crawford faked an italian accent?

AndyK 27 Feb 2007 23:30

Crawford played it as Frank Spencer ... enough to make anyone cringe.

 Michael Crawf*ck insisted that the character of Graf Von Krolock was made into an Italian character :wtf:

Apparently it allowed to use a "funnier accent"

When someone playing the lead in a gothic horror starts telling you that he wants to use a "funnier accent" then it is time to show that actor the door and to tell him not to let the door hit him on the ass on the way out.

The demo i'm listening to was recorded by Steve after Crawf*ck had been cast in the roll and had started to make the changes that killed that musical deader than Der Graf.
That being the case, he is obliged to play the character as dictated.Bad accent and all.
But at least he doesn't use it when he sings.

He also changed half the script, and the story, the characters, are mere shadows of the original.

I sincerely beg to differ.

It was more like the bloke using the artistic licence (which BTW folks, was 100% on this deal  ) and is making all the changes is Frank Spencer.

I don't know WTF he's playing the character as :wtf:

duke knooby 27 Feb 2007 23:56

u watching the whole show??? with mr crawfords adaptions???

The Flying Mouse 27 Feb 2007 23:58

 I don't think I could bare too

I'm just listening to a demo of Steve I downloaded before.

duke knooby 27 Feb 2007 23:59

ahhh the steve demos.... amazing, brilliant stunning and fantastic

 And a tantalising teasing look into a future that could have been

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:09

don't get me started... or points will be heading my way lol

The Flying Mouse 28 Feb 2007 00:17

 Well, Von Krolock (the Italian one :wtf: ) loses his temper while he'strying to seduce the woman he loves and shouts............

"YOU PATHETIC LITTLE PEASANT, DO YOU THINK I HAVE TIME FOR A MISSERABLE NOTHING LIKE YOU?"

FFS

Tanz is a very romantic play, especially the character of Von Krolock.

This is not the kind of thing he would come out with.

AndyK 28 Feb 2007 00:34

Trust me .. on stage it WAS Frank!

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:39

yeah, but i enjoyed frank spencer

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:41

some mothers do ave em was funny, but i dont want to see frank on stage doing a masterpiece like dotv

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:42

did u see the vienna shows with steve mr king?

AndyK 28 Feb 2007 00:43

Sadly no.

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:46

which show did u get to see?

AndyK 28 Feb 2007 00:48

One of the final previews in NYC of DOTV. Not seen the real show live yet.

The Flying Mouse 28 Feb 2007 00:49

 God, I would have loved to seen the original production live in Vienna.

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:49

previews??? nice one... whats was your opinion of what you saw??

AndyK 28 Feb 2007 00:51

Unrepeatable on a public forum

Will try and dig out what I wrote at the time, although it was some 4 &1/2 yrs ago so it might take me a while. Did get to meet Steven Rinkoff and Barry Keating that night though which made up for the show :lmao:

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:53

you meet all the greats (apart from me)
where do i know barry keating from, was it batman?

The Flying Mouse 28 Feb 2007 00:54

No, that's Michael Keaton. Barry Keating was in the workshops production of Neverland, right? And Das Rheingold?

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 00:57

excuse my ignorance from the above

AndyK 28 Feb 2007 00:57

Yep spot on that's Barry! Great guy, made up for the fact that Jim didn't show up at that nights preview ... then again with 40+ Steinman fans there I'd have hidden if I were him to!

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 01:04

end of another birthday

The Flying Mouse 28 Feb 2007 01:22

 Steve Barton once recorded a song with Mother Theresa?

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 01:26

yes she read a prayer while he sang or something.. he considered it his best achievment or something. i think i read he wrote part of it aswell, but i could be completely wrong

duke knooby 28 Feb 2007 02:34

From the youtube clips, I think that reviews of so-called Dance are quite obvious...argh...

From Tanz to Dance...truly memorable...go straight from heaven to hell...do not pass go...do not go to jail, etc...

:( Feeling blue over the passing of Australia's rock legend, Billy Thorpe. He was our "Meat Loaf" in that he never let tradition get in the way of a good idea, a true pioneer in the industry, and he was LOUD. 60 is way too young to die. Vale Billy Thorpe.
