Friday, 7th December, 2007 .

Battybarb 22 Mar 2008 11:08

why did security ruin it ?

MeatGrl1 22 Mar 2008 16:49

Oh 25th I meant .

I went to my seat and had two massive people infront of me so all I could see was pitch black so I went to this security guard and explained this and he told me that he would see what he would do and said he would be back, however this guy never came back and it got to Objects and I had missed all that Meat said, I thank Michael for capturing it !! Because it was then they decided to come and talk to me and tell me that I had to go back to my seat and not stand in the asle which I was not blocking btw and I still could not really see, however they shunted me to this seat and I was crying then for the rest of the show, it just totally ruined my night.

RadioMaster 22 Mar 2008 17:30

not really the security guys fault then I'd say.
They did what they were there for: their job.
If this was the worst security-incident ever happening to you, you are very lucky

unfortunatly for us shorter folk that happens alot at shows, they have to keep people in their seats otherwise i guess it might as well be a standing show, this is why alot of us try so hard and pay so much to get in the first few rows, i have been to many concerts where i couldnt see a thing, sheffield in may was one, even as tall as m is he couldnt see anything either, in those situations you just have to enjoy the music and the atmosphere.
You may not have been blocking the aisle but someone sees you getting away with it, then they think they can do it then it goes on and then the aisle does get blocked, see where i'm going with this ;) I'm sorry you didnt enjoy the show but you do need to change your expectations when you are that far back hun

sorry to hear that Emma, but that has happened to me before, tall people in front of me,just gritted my teeth and enjoyed the show.....except recently at WWF at wembley when they kept standing right in front of me,i politely asked them to sit as we couldnt see a few times which did not work, then very
impolitely TOLD them to sit which did work and we had a great time....

It was just him singing & playing piano. He played everything from blues, rock 'n' roll, soul ... you name it. For the last hour or so of his set he took requests from the audience and just played whatever we asked for.

I chatted with him after the show and he's an extremely friendly guy. I'd certainly pay to see him again.

The last concert/show I saw was Tanz Der Vampire in Berlin on Sunday

Battybarb 02 Apr 2008 10:19

Thats meant to be great, was it good ?

samurai7 02 Apr 2008 21:29

I thought it was great, althought the others who were with me, who'd all seen the show many times before said it was one of the worst they'd seen, in comparison with earlier productions in Hamburg and Stuttgart.

Battybarb 03 Apr 2008 00:17

Do you think it might have been cos they had seen it before,a couple of people who come in my pub have seen it and said it was great

samurai7 03 Apr 2008 05:00

I'm talking about people who have seen the show lots of times, with various different companies, in various different cities. They noticed little changes that have been made - remember it opened 10 years ago in Vienna, and has played in Stuttgart and Hamburg. There've been a few different Graf von Krolocks, Sarahs, Alfreds etc. There have also been prductions in Hungary and Japan, although I don't think any of the group I went with have seen the latter. These last two shows may not have been the best they've seen, but at least they all agreed on one thing: it wasn't as bad as the New York incarnation (thank God!)

I personally thoroughly enjoyed it. The only niggle I had was that sound wasn't loud enough for my taste, and I was sat right at the front! It's all academic now, though, as the show has now closed in Berlin. Next production will be in Oberhausen, starting in November, with a different cast. No word yet on who will be the principals, but apparently Tomas Borchert, who was 1st Krolock in Berlin is not due to appear as he's performing in another show at the time the new production is due to open. But I'd definitely recommend seeing it if you can. I'll never forget the experience!

RadioMaster 03 Apr 2008 09:36

While Meat was singing his heart out in the Wembley Arena in London on Friday May 25th 2007 I saw:

Place: Bibelot, Dordrecht, The Netherlands.

One of the best shows I've ever seen and I was in good company back then.

 Was this the original band members who were in the film Sarah?

I know that the original cast members went on the road as The Commitments not long after the movie.
A friend of mine saw them play while Andrew Strong was still with the band.

If they're still touring i'll have to get to one of their gigs.

they weren't all original members, as Glen Hansard, who played guitarist 'Outspan' (and fronts 'The Frames') has just won an oscar for best song in a movie for 'Falling Slowly', as featured in 'Once'. He starred in the film and performed the music with Marketa Irglova and has never had anything to do with subsequent tours. I'm pretty sure they now go under the banner 'Dave Finnegan's Commitments', with Dave being the guy who played Mickah Wallace, the drummer/bouncer in the movie The Commitments.

Skynyrd sounded great and really put on a great show.

Hank was sooo much fun! Loads of crowd participation!
The last time I went to see him [20 years ago] he was so drunk, he never made it on stage. This time was 100% improvement! I never realised that he was that good on guitar either - definitely glad I was able to see the show!

Springsteen was amazing beyond words, Def Leppard were pretty fab too but I have to say I was disappointed with Whitesnake, they just had nothing about them, and it's hard to here "let's f***ing rock this place!" in a British accent! Sounded like a joke from Chef Aid! :p
