Mini Monstro
All sorted today that Anji and I will have mini Monstro on the 17th of next month (four weeks away eeeek!!!!!).
As most people are aware we don't know the sex of the baby so we thought we'd have a bit of fun, guess the sex and weight. Easy to do, just post the sex and weight of the soon to be with us arrival and the person with the correct sex and closest to the weight wins a bottle of their tipple (if you drink malt you're screwed and you'll have to get used to blended lol). Tie break decided by who posted first. Helpful hint!!!!!! Midwife measured Anji last week, first words out of her mouth was " big baby". Consultant measured Anji this morning, first words out of his mouth "big baby" Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit - lb's and ounces in this country where baby's are concerned lol |
 Glad to hear all going well mate 8)
I have no idea what the hell a baby is supposed to weigh, so I won't put my foot in it and guess  However, i'll go with...... It's a boy  |
Boy weighing in at 7lbs 3oz. Didn't want to go too big and scare Anji!
|
well casey was 8lbs 13oz :p so anything below that is fine by me :)) so there ya go Neil you can have a realistic stab now hun ;)
So who do i have to thank for putting this idea in M's head?? :sherlock: ;) |
Jake says a boy and I say about..... 8Ib 5ozs
|
 OK, i'll go with a boy at 7lb 11oz
|
Htf did casey weigh that much lol. she's tiny!!
|
Well i am sticking to my original guess although i'm now thinking BIGGER. My first born was 9lb 8oz and i didn't think it was that bad lol.
|
awwww thats great news michael i reckon anji's gonna have a girl weighing 7lb and 80z good luck with the birth anji i heard its quite painful rather you than me

glad to hear everythings going well for you!
Ill have shot in the dark and say a girl at 7 pounds. |
My heart stopped at the name of the thread...I thought I confused all dates again...
Here you go...girl at 8 Lbs 3 oz |
Geez, I just remembered last time I told somebody they would have a girl (which they did) they didn't talk to me for months...
|
Anji & Michael,
I Hope everything goes well in the last few weeks but of course also beyond that for all four of you. My guess would be a girl around 8 pounds. :)) |
girl, 8lb 9oz
|
Girl 8lb 10oz
And I still maintain you should have had a guess the baby's mother competition :)) |
yes, cos you'd still get people getting it wrong :p
|
|
LOL... I remember those word's that the midwife said... big baby
anyway.... guessing by that remark i's say... 9lb 4oz and a boy. Michael anything for the one who gets the closest to the weight...:-) lol |

What some Mothers don't realise with a caesarian is that it's major abdominal surgery and they try and carry on with everyday life after birth when they should be taking it easy. Make sure she takes it easy, NO DRIVING or the stitches might pop and you could be up shit creek. Pud  |
All sorted already Pud, staying at inlaws for at least two weeks and I'm off work best part of a month
|
Did you miss a bit about her already having once 8 Lbs 13 oz baby???
(I am getting sympathy pains just posting this) |
Quote:
How much paternity leave in the UK are you entitled to? Pud  |
Two weeks paid, entitled to 4 more but they're unpaid, saved me holidays this year though and work are letting me work from home for a while
|
All the best to you both..i hope you are gonna be there Michael so Anji has someone to punch..lol..
My guess..a boy 8lb 12oz |
I reckon a 9lb 7oz boy
You sorted a girl's name yet?! |
Quote:
Do feel a bit robbed of the birth experience though if i'm honest  |
Really? It's so interesting that people feel like that whereas I'm the exact opposite, could handle raising a baby but I'd rather eat my feet than "have" it :?
|
lmao i used to be exactly like that Luce but it all changes when you actually go thru pregnancy and bring that littlun into the world...something just clicks inside you...kinda hard to explain really but only then do you find out what unconditional love is.
The trouble with c-section is not only the risks as pud says its a major surgery and there are lots of things that can ho wrong, the list of things i had to sign allowing them to do if it doesnt go according to plan is an eye opener lol, but the bigger thing for me with casey was i heard her cry, saw my partner go off with the midwife but it seemed forever before they stitched me back up and i got to see her face :( i guess that's where i feel robbed and also not being able to hold her/feed her properly for a while due to pain from the stitches. btw i saw the way you looked at casey ;) you're not so against kids as you make out i think :p |
LMAO a person could be made of stone and Casey would still crack them, she's beautiful!!! We must send you the pic of her with her feet up and holding Chelle's mobile
I'm not dead against kids - worked with them for long enough - I'm just too selfish to have them!!! I couldn't cope being pregnant, the thought of giving birth makes me shudder...I think I think too much about everything I'd be giving up rather than gaining :? I'd be perfectly happy if someone made me a baby and gave me it, just don't want to "have" it  In saying that though *goes all serious for a minute* I'm saying that as a person who assumes that when/if the time comes I'll be able to do it all naturally and it'll be my choice, dunno how I'd feel if my "right" was taken away... Let's just all get puppies  |
Quote:
By that do you mean you feel robbed of the potential 27 hours of swearing at Michael knowing he just has to accept every word with a lovoing smile? |
Quote:
feet up with a mobile phone lmao...now that makes me look like a good mum lol |
lol yeah that didn't sound too brilliant did it! Will email the pic, it's gorgeous
|
All the best to you both xx
Boy 8lb 2oz |
Okay... I'm attempting to be scientific here...
Statistically, the older the father, the more chance there is of the baby being a boy, and second babies tend to be bigger than first babies... so my guess is: Boy, 9lb 2 oz... and I don't envy you carrying that weight around Anji! Luckily my two were both less than 8lb... just make sure you take the advice that's already been given with regard to taking it easy afterwards, let M spoil you!! Hugs xx |

Congratuatlions and good luck to the both of you
A girl at 9lbs 5oz I ended up with an emergency c-section with my daughter Hazel arriving 10 weeks early at 2lbs 6oz. She is now approaching 7 and taller than most of her class - could it be the strict diet of rock music she has been fed since birth???? |
Thanks snowy
Oh bless.... i'm glad everything turned out ok. My first is just past 2yrs now and just starting to repeat the words to Meats songs lol |

Would you tell the name or it's a secret? |
Boys name is Thomas, both of my grandfathers were Tommy so that wasn't tough. Girls name we'll sleep on, won't print it until Anji's decided it's the one she wants.
|
Thomas is lovely,my cousins little boy is Thomas and he is a little darling...
