Update to v3.7.3 complete
 

Hi there,

you may have noticed that the forum software has been updated.

Although it looks like that noting has changed, this was a major update and I might have missed a few spots that do not work anymore.

If you happen to receive an unexpected error message, either send a pm or post detailed error information - in particular the style you are using - in this thread.

PM notfications have changed
 

The notification for private messages has changed to reflect the new functionalities. See attachment.

Public Profile
 

One major change is the completely new public user profile.

You can view your profile by clicking on your username next to Welcome in the top right corner. It looks like this:

Make sure you explore the new messaging options, Social Groups and Albums.

I've gotten a whole one friend request (LOL)

And I am trying to accept it...and I click on save changes and nothing happens and it still says that I have that whole ONE request...LOL

Mostly for bookmarks/adding to links to famous link places. You see them everywhere these days. I never use them.

It's not difficult but it seems to me that it has less privacy in terms of profile? On the other hand...what do I know...I seldom look at them...LOL...

BUT...it is NOT good for stalking...cause it shows who visited your profile! *Scratches her head*...

When I logged out of chat I did get a Data base error and again when I clicked on new posts but gave it a second and it rectified it's self, will it do this everytime I leave chat ?

it did that to me - but just as I clicked on the community link at the top of the page...

Social Groups can be seen by any registered user, unless the "User must join to view" checkbox is ticked.

You're jumping to conclusions a little to quick ... ;)
Since you added no information to your profile, there's nothing more for others to see. Check the "About Me" tab in your profile and click the 'View your "About Me" as seen by ..." link. That is what others see.

True, it shows who visited your profile. But you only see those visitors that are visible. "Invisible" visitors are not listed there. Of course, this does not apply to mods and admins.

Friends and Group Memberships however are shown to every registered user visiting your profile - but that's intentional as these are parts of the networking features.

I can tell you that the next vBulletin release will add finer controls to secure profile privacy. It's already mentioned on the developers' blog. But this software is still a few months away.

Is it just me that's getting the message "the server is too busy" so can't connect to the site message all the time?

I've had that too. It's usually when I'm trying to post something really funny, and then by the time it's sorted itself out, I've forgotten what I was gonna say...

Same as, and after you get the chance to post it it's kinda lost the moment lol

An email gets dispatched every time a database error occurs, so in these cases my email account gets literally flooded with those mails. Hence, I do know about these errors, but in this case there's not much I can do about it. I'll get in touch with the hosting company, if these errors persist. :shrug:

Do you think then that it's a coincidence that these error messages started appearing only after the install of the new software?

They have been there before.

I started getting them after the install but then I am using firefox only recently...so I am getting all kinds of errors I didn't have before...
