Meat Loaf and Pink?
 
What would everyone think of Meat Loaf and Pink doing a song together? I think that it would be amazing there voices would be so good together.

imo pink is too strong a singer and character to sing with meat, i dont know much of her stuff but what i have seen and heard i cant really see her doing a duet with anybody really lol. I think they both have strengths that would clash rather than compliment each other :?

i agree with the miley cyrus thing lol though maybe not for the same reason, i dont know, i think Pink is too much 'in form' to duet with Meat, there is nothing to gain from it for her, and just wouldnt make sense, duets with Meat generally are with artists who arent big in their own right.
And yes lol i do know he did a duet with Cher ;)

And why exactly would you want to hear Meat singing with someone who´s not in his league??

Meats voice was powerful...a good few years ago.
Nowadays his voice would go down in a duet with Pink, thats for sure!!!!

thats all, vocally meat has more to hes voice! i didnt say she was not good enough, if you listen to the cd with meat and marion raven, i think meat is the better singer imo, but it dont mean she aint good! she sounded great live!
pink has a huge character like meat, it would be interesting

During the Bat III promo he once mentioned that they had considered to involve Melissa Etheridge. I saw that woman live and heard her sing duets with various good singers. It's not easy to keep up with her energy. Maybe speculating about a collaboration with Pink is not that far out? I don't believe it will ever happen but it might be a bold move.

A voice that has suffered over the years can still sound cool if you use it in the right way. How about a duet with this lady:

I saw Pink live a few years ago at the Oxygen festival over here and thought she was very good.

I don't think Meat doing a duet with her would work and to be honest I'd just like to see Meat not have to rely on a duet to sell the song/album

Pink and Steven Tyler did a duet together called Misery, the title summing up the song perfectly.

I also hate getting bogged down in the argument as to who has the better voice because it's just the same argument as who is the best band in the world, best album...etc.

Voices per se are neither "good" nor "bad". It depends on what you do with it. I also don't think that Meat's voice is worse now than it used to be. It's just different. Hate to say it but Pink would wipe the floor with Meat, he's not got the pace to keep up with her...for a Pink/Meat Loaf duet to work she would have to tone it right down to work at the level he's at, which kinda defeats the object

vocally meat has a 2 octave range advantage 4 vs 2
and live? c,mon get real! shes good, but she aint meat

When I see Meat perform...I see a man pouring his heart and soul into every syllable he sings...when I see Pink...I see a dominatrix...lol...

We are talking duets here...Meat's concerts are longer cause there are so much instrumentals, you can make a separate instrumental concert out of it. I understand why it's done (and it's been done for quite a few years now)...to give Meat a break...but it does lengthen the concert...

Meat might have a two octave vocal range but there's more to a performance than just that...Pink's famed for her high-energy performances in a different way to Meat, if they sang together she was have to tone her act right down for it to work, I just can't see her standing still and singing alongside Meat in the way that Marion Raven did because that's not what she's about

thats exactly what i very badly was trying to say, just couldnt find the right words that wouldnt offend one or the other lol, imo neither are better than the other, just incredibly different.

I think we all tried to say more or less the same thing...these artists are way too different on so many levels that contemplation of a duet appears a bit off...

I like some of Pink's material and think she has an unusual voice, however for some reason I can't see a Pink/Meat Loaf duet happening anytime soon and it's difficult to even try and imagine it unless you play Meat and Pink together and decide then if their voices are suited for a duet.... :lol:.

If I'm watching a duet performance, I want to see chemistry between the performers. Marion didn't have any chemistry with Meat, and I don't think Pink would either (but she's a great solo artist). Meat sounds best and performs best with Patti.

There would definitely need to be a sense of humour in whatever they did together, but unfortunately I don't think it would be taken seriously, I think it'd look like a charity single or some pairing for Comic Relief

I think both artists should probably stay away from each other...Pink seems to like singing songs about her ex and Meat is just trying to make an album (couldn't really come up with a better reason then that)


I just think Meat needs to do his own thing,based on the last time i saw him live i don't think his voice is in the condition where it should be exposed to duets with people who cannot work around him as well as Patti Russo and the band can.

Meats songwriting in the past hasn't been...shall we say...stellar. I believe Meat has said many times that he's not a songwriter. That said, I strongly believe that everyone has at least one song inside them.

Meat's music isnt always rock but he is still a rocker, Pink is a rocker too, majority of her music is rock, just different style. And while i dont like too much of her music i dont think she needs to try too hard for the rock edge ;)
