Bat Ouf Of Hell The Musical Forum

For those who misssed this in my other thread...

There's a new forum here for discussing the forthcoming musical. I thought it was worth having a separate place for it because most mlukfc posters don't read Rockman, and vice versa.

The web address for my Bat Out Of Hell The Musical site and forum will soon be changing to:

http://www.batmusical.com (for the site), and

http://www.batmusical.com/phpbb (for the forum)

The old address (which is changing hands) will still work for a few days; the new address should be working now.

mabey like the musical itself the changing of the website will never happen

daveake 23 Nov 2009 10:18

???

I'm talking about my fan site, not the official one.

I can't speak for the official website or the musical itself, though I'm confident that will go ahead (eventually - we're talking Jim timescales here). My site is most certainly changing.

No problem. There was subtle clue in the use of the word "my" in "The web address for my Bat Out Of Hell The Musical site ..." ;-)

Also, evil_nickname has kindly offered to re-vamp the site (except for the forum, which was fine anyway) and has done so already.

Before anyway asks, the previous domain is being handed over to the production team for the musical.

AndyK 23 Nov 2009 14:39

I hope you're getting something out of a packet of polo's for it? ;-)

daveake 23 Nov 2009 14:41

Yes, I get the hole down the middle .... :lmao:

AndyK 23 Nov 2009 14:49

So you've got a copy of the script then?

daveake 23 Nov 2009 15:00

Answers to this and all similar questions will be >mmmppphhh< :-)

Wanna trade?

your copy of the script for my CHSIB LP?

daveake 23 Nov 2009 22:44

If I had a script, and like I said I'm not saying anything about any agreement, any trade would be for something I'd actually want!

duke knooby 23 Nov 2009 22:46

so quite obviously there is an agreement :-P

so how many free tickets did you negotiate for? ;)

but we dont wanna discuss that here... all blackmail requests to.... lol
(only messin)

daveake 23 Nov 2009 23:29

Baked, butter or runner?

Pudding 24 Nov 2009 01:29

If you butter your baked then you'll end up doing a runner to the bog

"Pixie Lott set for Meat Loaf musical"
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/showbiz...nt_9034396.htm

daveake 24 Nov 2009 13:14

What a non-story ... someone would like to be in the musical and all of a sudden she is "set for" the musical.

Never trust reporters!

And as for "Meat Loaf musical" .....

Just one of many such stories over the coming months/years I'm sure.

Tenuous link from Pixie Lott to Meat? Marion Raven wrote one of the songs on Pixie's current album.

Evil One 24 Nov 2009 14:59

Hijacking Bat 3 really launched the career of Marion Raven!

I've worked on 2 or 3 projects which have had press involvement. What they write usually holds very little relation to the actual facts. In my experience they either have an agenda, or build a story in their imagination, and stick with that.

I'm pretty sure that the musical will happen, but remember we're talking about Jim timescales and he thinks nothing of spending years getting something the way he wants.

As for the "Meat Load Musical" thing, it's a sad fact of life that most people's brains don't stretch far enough to realise that the man behind the mike isn't necessarily the man behind the music. It's unfortunately too much to expect to think that reporters will suddenly start mentioning Jim first and Meat second. Once the official press releases start flowing it will be a bit different, but not much.

Although saying that, it's good that at least the musical is making a news article.

The Flying Mouse 01 Dec 2009 19:35

 I'm inclinded to agree with Sue.
All she is seeming to say is that she might decide to try out for the part.

What I found interesting was this..................

"my manager's told me that the Meatloaf musical Bat Out Of Hell is coming to London"

"the meatloaf musical", not "the Jim Steinman musical".

I'm probably opening the biggest nastiest can of rotton worms here (what do I mean "probably? ) but I think people will accociate this musical more with Meat than Jim.

The only reason i'm bringing that up is that i'm wondering what the musical content will be.

I think the lay man will expect this show to be full of Meat Loaf hits, but if it is a mix of some songs performed by Meat with a lot of other Steinman material thrown in, I don't think that the punters will be getting what they think they're paying for.

I think the only way around that would be to have on the promo material.........

"featuring songs made famous by Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Air Supply, Pandora's Box" etc etc.

Unless all the songs in the show are ones that have been made famous by Meat, in which case there isn't a problem

Evil One 01 Dec 2009 19:59

Her manager is non other than David Sonenberg. Coincidentally Jim Steinman's manager is David Sonenberg. :sherlock:

The Flying Mouse 01 Dec 2009 21:37

 If even David Sodenberg is calling this the "Meat Loaf musical", then that must tell you something.

Pudding 01 Dec 2009 21:37

And isn't David Sonenberg also Paula Abduls manager? lets hope (or not hope ) his negotiating skills are a little better than what they were in getting a new contract for Paula on American Idol

Jim asked him on facebook and he said yes. that is all we know

Evil One 27 Jan 2011 19:21

I really doubt Jim would use Facebook to fill such an important role. :rly:

Dave

No disrespect intended to Jim but why would the general public have any clue who he is or what he has accomplished except for his association with Meat Loaf?
I want to see the musical be a success but I really think that if Meat is not involved in some way, I have doubts of its success.
Common sense dictates a marketing strategy based around Meat backing Jim's musical. Meat is hot right now and has a lot more name recognition.
Like it or not Bat out of Hell will always be linked to Meat Loaf.
