Upcoming GLEE Rocky Horror Episode
I just found out there are plans underway for GLEE to have a "Rocky Horror" episode next season.
http://daveydramatic.com/project/201...coming-season/ I put some stuff about it on my blog in case you are interested. |
I messed up some coding on my site...sorry...

Cool ! I'll have to check it out .. thanks Dave :-)
|
I'd hardly call RHPS a franchise...

Hmm....well I love Glee and I like RHPS so it sounds like a good plan to me! Actually, I would love to see Meat make a guest appearance on Glee...but is that another thread!?! :P
|
I know the "GLEEKS" (as fans of GLEE like to call themselves??) had a big Twitter campaign to get GLEE to do Meat Loaf...same as the effort to have them do GaGa, so we shall see.
I think Meat should play a history teacher on the show - would be fun and a way for him to live out his "if I were not a rock star" answer. |

Yes, Gleeks we are! :) Funny, but I pictured a history teacher role or the role of one of the character's dads. But I think a school staff position would be great - would love to see Meat put Sue Sylvester in her place! :)
|
I like Glee and LOVE RHPS. I'd kind of like to see Meat as a drama teacher after all he is wonderfully theatrical!
|
I like Glee but I don't like RHPS, I'll probably end up watching the episode anyway.

I like Glee because it isn't about forensically fighting crime, half the neighbourhood shagging each other or someone getting voted off, it's a welcome change.

|
This is my idea of hell Glee doing RHPS, sorry but i hate both, glad some of you are excited by it, just not for me.
|
Anything that reminds people of RHPS will help support the original movie.

Glee is huge, and any songs featured on it usually fly back up the charts?
it would be great if he could perform IF I Cant Have You on it, either way its good promo i guess? |
wonder if meat and the NLE will do their version of Hot patootie on it and spare the glee cast from ruining it....

Didn't I see on this thread that Meat and Barry B are cast non-singing roles on the show ? ... I could look to see, but I need to eat my soup that's heated now... ... Ta in advance, though.

Meat and Barry B. will be playing station managers ... neither one of them will be singing. |

According to all of the news alerts I've seen, Meat and Barry will both be appearing as station managers and neither one will be singing. Besides, who said that the Glee cast will be singing Hot Patootie :??: |

And, like Dave already mentioned, it's great publicity for RHPS too. |

and that, TIme Warp, and Transvestite are the three most famous songs associated with the film. HP would've made a fine single fer meat :D |

Wonder when it'll be shown? Halloween time? I don't watch Glee so I have no idea what it's about unless it's like another high school musical show.

Thanks Vicki, Will write that one down.

Happy Sunday meatie peeps ...
I saw this morning a post on FB from Meat saying he's completed the Glee episode... yay for us ! I've been waiting for THAT confirmation ... ;) ... lol ...
|
Watching my local news (due to tropical storm updates) they just had a blurb about Glee. News anchors just said, now that the Britney Spears ep is over for Glee, the next BIG SHOW is the upcoming Cult Classic Rocky Horror Picture Show episode airing Oct. 26th. Projections are expecting huge Neilsen Ratings on this one episode alone and are excited for it to air.
Pretty cool to hear first hand off my local station. The one anchor lady is a self admitted Gleek though. |
Well we were getting Glee at the same time as over there, but because of the Commonwealth Games, the channel that airs Glee is televising the Games, we will be a few weeks behind now!!!!! Damn. The same thing happened with House, we were getting it at the same time, then because of Easter they started showing repeats for a couple of weeks, so we got it later.

in this morning's paper
An article by Scott Collins in the Los Angeles Time discusses how brand new TV shows that started this fall are not doing well, HOWEVER:
"Viewers have turned out in droves for favorite returning shows, such as the high-school musical "Glee," which is soaring to record ratings in its second season on Fox." So Meat's cameo role will be seen by many, many people :-) ..and I wouldn't be so quick to discount any positive effect on HCTB awareness/sales; these things feed on each other, and any big exposure is good. -Kathy |

i wonder if meats agreement to do Glee was stemmed from his enthusiasm for putting HP back in the set
Wonder if hed agree to this three years ao  HP may have also been added back into the set for Rocky's 35th Anniversary while also being arranged by Patti and Paul  |

The mentioned the upcoming Rocky Horror episode of Glee on ET yesterday, but unfortunately didn't show Meat or mention him being on it. :( Typical.

You can now listen to all of the songs online (in full) for FREE!!
http://www.gleethemusic.com/us/episo...rror-glee-show Ummmmm....censorship much? |

um..........THIS is the reason I hate Glee >.<
They destroyed the other songs imo...ESPECIALLY Sweet Transvestite. Ugh... /rant |
HP, touch me, and Time warp are OK, Transvestite is just wrong and never like frankeinstein's place to begin with.
|
HP needs Meat. 'Nuff said.

are they gonna redo all the songs or is it just a selection? (sorry, never watched glee)
|
I saw some pictures and the regular cast looked good and John Stamos looked great dressed as Eddie! I'm so glad I can watch it online as January seems to be the earliest chance it will be shown on UK tv
|
Quote:
But I think it's just a selection of the songs. |

when ids this going to be on tv?

HP sounds great ! But in my fantasy land I would have way preferred Meat doing it. I know he could nail it still and make it sound amazing
|
I saw an ad on tv last night for the upcoming RHPS Glee, but no sign of 'Imself or Barry B ...

Listening to them, I doubt I'll actually watch the episode but I'm intrigued to see what the songs sound like.
At the moment listening to Touch-A Touch-Me, hate the lyrical changes. As someone said what the hell is the point of doing the song if they have to change the lyrics for the demographic? Plus they dirtiest part of the song is left in there anyway in the damn chorus so it's a waste of time. Whatever Happened to Saturday Night was good though. Although I expect singing wise they would be good, they all have singing/muscial backgrounds so I did expect them to do well here. |
Quote:
|
Just heard Sweet Transvestite.. I'm sorry what did they do here? So what is Frank in this version going to wear jeans and have a moustace because that has completely defeated the point of the song and the musical. Frank is meant to be... a guy....
|
Bump.....cause' it's tonight. And yeah, they are singing the songs but I'm on the lookout for station manager Meat (or whatever his character's name is). :)

sorry if i have missed this question earlier on in the thread but...
does any one know when the episode will be aired in the UK?:??: |
pretty good.
Wouldve liked Meat's scene to have happened without the credits going by.... |
Quote:
I wish Meat's scene was longer ... it was the highlight of the show for me. I thought he and Barry were both hysterical :-) |
Quote:
Bottom line for me ? It was TERRIFIC seeing 'Imself on tv tonight !!! ... :D ... OH and I liked the Time Warp finale ... :D ... |
Quote:
I really liked Meat and Barry together. I think Meat said (in the radio interview :??:) that they gave them both re-occuring roles ... so I'm taping the rest of the episodes this season to see if they show up again :-) |
Um Tink, I didn't notice the credits either. I must have looked right through them. :)
I think the character, the "to the point" station manager, suits him well. The lines were humorous but not forced. I like that. I've watched Glee several times and I think the writing is clever. I'm far from a Gleek though. Like others I will record the rest of the season since Meat's role may be re-occurring. |
