What is Meat's Highest note?

I've been listening to try and find Meat's highest recorded and live note. He has a high C which is very impressive. Does he go higher in any song? any clue? I'm sure Meat would know his highest note, i am just curious!

The end of Bat Out Of Hell.

Like a Bat out of helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

That's the highest recorded note!!! and I'm sure the highest note he can hit.

A high F, (which when transposed during the live shows is either D sharp or E) on Paradise "Lord I was crazed", sometimes he shouts it but when he sings it is definitely the highest note.

It's a big note but it's not a high note.

My guess would be the "you're" at the beginning of Living On The Outside, which if it isn't a top C it's a D (haven't got a keyboard to hand so will go with the answer of anyone that does!)

FFS A question was asked and I answered it what's your problem? Incase you haven't noticed other people had different answers aswell. I don't hear you calling them out though.

That High C is a High note for a male vocalist for sure.

The way its sustained makes it big.

what is his highest falsetto and full voice?

Would it not be the high notes he hit in California, and the one he always hit in Life Is A Lemon?

I'm sure during the recording of HCTB he said he was hitting high Es... don't think the song was specified.

A Slice Of English 20 Sep 2010 09:20

I'm sure he hits some pretty damn high notes in Love Is Not Real.

nikox1 21 Sep 2010 00:13

the e note he hits is near the end of IF IT RAINS, almost sure? maybe not?

If WarieL had made this a poll, I would have voted for those notes in California ... :D ...

duke knooby 21 Sep 2010 00:19

PanicLord 21 Sep 2010 08:28

Hope so, cause that would mean I can do it too!

You might be right though, very high, love that song.

Nick 21 Sep 2010 18:51

robgomm 22 Sep 2010 11:25

Yeah if it rains is a very high note. I was speaking to my Wife who knows quite a bit about music and she reckons that's a G. But it's a genuine G not a falsetto. The California ones are falsetto G's.

Studio engineering talk moved to a thread of it's own here

suzieq 24 Sep 2010 18:16

Do non-word ad lib "WAAAAAHHHH's" count in a hitting the note discussion? There are several WAAAAAAHHH's Meat does that are up there in sound but I don't know if it is a "note".

carole 24 Sep 2010 23:58

That's a good point Suzie, he does hit some high notes in those waaaahhhhhh's.

Really? No wonder I have a sore throat!

Mr. Happy 25 Sep 2010 12:26

Don't know if it's highest, but the last line, and particularly the last word (waste), in "A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste" is insanely high too :D

madagascar 25 Sep 2010 15:13

Like to bring the end of "A Kiss..." into play.:-)

olblueeyes 25 Sep 2010 19:46

The highest notes on HCTB are on California - those falsetto notes on the last two "I don't make promises any more" are the high Es. You could argue that he probably gets a higher note in the screams before "I can barely fit..." but these are screams and don't really count, impressive as they are.

Of the other songs mentioned, the next highest are the high notes at the end of Elvis In Vegas; which are C sharps. Then Living On The Outside where the highest notes are Cs. The highest notes in If It Rains are Bs so they are the lowest of all the above.

These notes are impressive for a singer of 30 let alone one over 60.

I agree, very impressive - and those sound more likely notes. Also, I'm sure I've read that there aren't many male singers whose range includes high Cs. I saw Barry Manilow live at Proms in the Park once and he said he doesn't do one song live because it has G in it (not high G either!) He did it, and just made it

I can do quite a good high B, but not quite nailed the C yet. Just a little bit out of my range. Working on it though.

On the "In Search of Paradise" DVD as he was warming up before a show with Mark Alexander, and he hit one very very high note if I remember correctly.

dont recall that....

but i do recall Gimme Shelter arrangement was far superior then 3 Bats Live and he hit a very low note.

I Beat the System 01 Oct 2010 16:29

The note Steve mentioned at the very end of Bat is a B below high C. It's a high one, but not his highest.

The "baaaack" from the YouTube Life is a Lemon that was posted is an A above high C. It might be the winner.

In the studio "I'm Gonna Love Her For Both of Us", he hits a C# on "There ain't no holding..." at the end of the bridge.
