"Witness Insecurity" - New movie for 2011?
Has anyone heard of this movie Witness Insecurity yet and when it comes out?
|
www.witnessinsecurity.com would probably be your best source for answers
|
Its very low budget, under just 900,000 dollars :|
|
I wish he would start doing big roles for big movie's

I think I remember him saying that he does roles that nobody else would do. He needs to get into the role when he reads about it and if he dont he wont do the role. He likes the tough roles that nobody else can do.

I'm under the impression that Meat chooses the roles based on challenge for himself. Not necessarily "tough roles that nobody else can do". If he knows how the character is supposed to be played, chances are, he won't go for that role.
|
on the other hand he's known to make one the odd story now and then. I wouldnt take all those statements too seriously... maybe these are the only roles he gets offered? Or the only acceptable ones...
|
On IMDB it said: "Meat Loaf closed the movie with the refrain of a song he wrote on the spot." That should be an interesting draw for the likes of us.

Witness Insecurity Writer/Director/Producer
Hey Meatloaf fans,
I saw this post about our movie (and all the subsequent comments about Meat's role choices and acting career) and thought I'd chime in as a first time poster. I co-wrote, produced and directed the indie feature "Witness Insecurity" that Meat shot this past May/June in North Carolina. He was amazing. Such a powerful presence on the set. So well prepared. He brought so much to the role. He raised the bar for all the other actors around him - and we had a really great cast (in spite of our under a million dollar budget): we had Edward Furlong (Terminator 2, American History X), Ed Asner (Up, Lou Grant), Rick Ravenello (Weeds), Elaine Hendrix (Parenthood), Rena Owen (Once Were Warriors), P.J. Byrne (Evan Almighty, The Game), Grace Johnston (Beaches) - the list goes on and on! So much can be done with so much less these days in the indie film arena. With the economy constricting globally and investment squirrelly everywhere, stars are willing - and the unions allow - totally different "scales" outside the studio feature arena - if the script is good enough. So budget really has nothing to do with quality of story or performance. It does impact special effects and CGI - but we had very little of that - and exponential technological improvements have drastically lowered the bar on a lot of this, too - so its a very exciting time to be making independent films! Meat was king and generous and creative - playful and supportive - I can't say enough about him as a human being and as an actor. We kidded one another that I'm not allowed to make another movie without him. I, at least, plan to keep my word on that! It'll depend on his crazy touring and recording schedule - and quite frankly, if I can write another script that's up to snuff (and I've got a library of 'em - I'm just raising money for my next at bat). For those who're interested, I wrote a little blog on him on my site, retelling my favorite day during the shoot - when Meat wrote a song on the spot! Really, he's such an amazing musician, actor - performer, human being - I can see why you're all such fans. I'd say I'm his #1 fan :) but maybe I won't dare say that here on this site! |

Loving the blog, brilliant, nice day for the sound engineer lol

Thanks Heather for taking the trouble to come here and post. Great to read :) .. and great to come from a source that can't be easily dismissed ;) Yes, he is certainly an amazing musician, actor, performer, and human being who takes his craft seriously and shows great kindness and humour. I wish you every success with your movie :-)

Thanks Susie Q, Monstro and CarylB!
Yeah, I have a photo of Meat, the Sound Guy and I - I have to get that up on my blog. My boyfriend got Meat to autograph the reflector he smashed when he hit the light post with the semi! :) His first time ever driving one - on camera, of course! He signed it: "I did not do this." He has such a wonderful sense of humor! I could rave and rave about him. He gave his musicians the night off so he could fly back in the middle of his tour to make an extra night he wasn't scheduled/committed to but that we really needed him for. Flew in at like 8 PM, worked through the night. 'til like 3 AM - then crashed and hopped back on a plane to keep going on his tour. He's an amazing performing machine! Really, not spin control or anything - he just gave and gave with such heart and sincerity...I can't wait to work with him again! |

Thank you so much Heather for your 2 posts and the link to your blog. It was nice of you to take the time to do that, it was very informative. It's nice to see an 'outsider' who respects and admires Meat as much as we do. That sounds like the Meat we all know and love, flying all the way over there to finish a scene, then flying back. He really is a trooper and is very hard working and decicated to his craft. I really hope the movie is a success and can't wait to see it. It sounds like you had fun making it with Meat, and hope you get to work with him again.

I posted the photo on the blog. I have a ton of photos - unfortunately, most of them are in action (i.e.: not great photos of faces or even necessarily in focus! I wasn't taking them - I was focused on directing! But ton of people everywhere were taking pictures - fans, some photographers, crew members, some a great - I'll have to dig them out. It was such a crazy schedule of 18 14-hour days, non-stop, it was hard to have the time to dig through the thousands of photos :) while we were taping hours of footage!
Can't wait for the next one! I've got a Marlin fishing sports romantic comedy set in Cabo San Lucas I'd love to have Meat in. Actually maybe with Sammy Hagar (cause he has Cabo Wabo Tequila and a bar down there)...and several others! I have photos of Meat being squibbed - he gets shot in a mafioso scene...and...well, I can't tell you too much more or I'll ruin the story! ;) Can't WAIT for it to come out! I'm sure the website - which is just a draft stage - yes Latin and Greek, I don't think they knew it was live yet ;) will have updates, footage, etc, soon! Stay posted! Thanks gals! (And guys!) |

 Hi Heather, welcome to the site, and thanks for posting.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed working with Meat so much, and I hope you work with him on the next project 8) Now, about Witness Insecurity, when should the forum staff expect our premier invites to get to us? We'll need to dust off our tuxedoes, and can I have a nice shiny white Lear jet to get me there please? |

Anyway, this is going way off the topic, so i'll shut up now before I have to infract myself :silence: |
No Monstro! :) Meat DOES make it to the end of my film!!!! :) He's the HERO! :)
Quote:
:) <<SPOILER WARNING>> Actually Meat Loaf plays an undercover US Marshall...passing as a truck driver...who only APPEARS to get killed...to show up and shock the bad guy in an amazing interrogation scene! And he IS THERE IN THE FINAL CLIMACTIC SCENE - SAVING THE DAY!!! cuffing the bad guy - and for some sweet resolution with the best of the bad guys (Eddie Furlong). Meat Loaf is OUR HERO!!! And he sings us into the credits! ;) So to say he didn't make it to the end of the film, Au Contraire, Mon Cher! :) And you bet! I sure as hell want him in my next flick! Working on it now! A marlin fishing Sport/RomCom - in spite of his bad knees or getting sea sick! Set in Cabo San Lucas Mexico - working on Tim McGraw (who has one of my other scripts optioned) and Sammy Hagar, too! (Cabo Wabo CLub and Tequila)... We'll see! BTW: Witness Insecurity is premiering Saturday night 10/1/10 in Kannapolis North Carolina at the Modern Film Festival - right in the theater where one of the pivotal scenes was shot! :) :) |
Great news all the way around! Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted.

FYI - I don't know if ya'll know the film's title was changed from Witness Insecurity to Snitch (then the Rock had a movie come out called that at the same time ;-/ ) so we finally changed ours a 3rd time to Absolute Killers.

This movie was the pits.
Meat needs better scripts. Cause he steals every scene he's in, but to give a good analogy: He's s bank robber in a bank with no cash. |
