HOF - NLE
 

:twisted: When the MLUKFC Legends of music HOF was started, the idea was kicked around a little that we could/should have a NLE category.

I think it would be nice if we could get this category up and running, and post the inductees on Meat's birthday.

I think that if current/recent band members ran against band members from longer ago, we wouldn't have much of a race (more recent band members have a much higher advantage), so how about we induct 5 ex members of the NLE who have not worked with Meat for at least 5 years, and 2 band members who are still with the band, or have worked with Meat within the last 5 years?
That's a total of 7 inductions this year to get the ball rolling.
After that there will be fewer inductions per year. 3 at most (2 classic and 1 recent).

I've left it a bit late in the day to go through the same nomination process we had for the other categories (my bad :oops: ) so rather count nominations, then post them, then have the members vote on the finalists, we'll just have one round of blind voting (and hope for the best :pray: ).

To clarify, a member of the NLE is someone who has performed with Meat LIVE rather than anybody who has played on studio recordings.

To vote, please copy and paste the next message on this thread into a PM, fill in the blanks of who you want to vote for, and send it to me.

Closing date for votes in Thursday 26th September.

:twisted: To even things out a little i've changed the amount of inductees from recent years from 1 to 2.
Otherwise I've a feeling that particular vote will be a foregone conclusion :wink:

Scary to think that Mark and Kasim fall into the first category!

...or do they? They officially left in 2010 but did they perform with Meat in 2009? Their last UK was 2008, were there US shows in '09? Too tired to check-

Do you really think there is any doubt that Patti will get in?

Truth be told I think there will be uproar if she does not & for me she should have got in automatically as soon as it was found out she was no longer in the NLE in thanks and recognition of her 20+ years of amazing service.


Won't be happy if Kaz gets in though. Personally I never really liked him & I think Bob deserves the second place more than he does because a concert is not the same without Bob

I don't think there is any doubt since I think there are plenty of people here that I believe will be voting for her but personally I do not think anyone should get in automatically without being voted in other than Meat and Jim.

Deadline is midnight (BST) on Thursday because I want to count the results up and post the results Friday afternoon.

:twisted: I've nearly got all the results counted, but I haven't got time to finish them right now as i'm off to work.

Damon LaScot and Pat Thrall are probably the only classic guitarists that young fans have seen in concert. (Not to undermine his win in any way because he did play well on the VBO/Storytellers tours.)

Thanks for posting the results, Neil. I am not surprised by the winners; they are all worthy. I am kind of surprised that Randy and Aspen didn't get any votes.
