Patti has left the band

I got an email from Patti in which she asks me to give you all her message:

***

There has been a lot of talk and I've been getting quite a few emails so I think I should let you all know that I have left the band. Thanks so much for all of your love and support. It's been a wonderful ride!!!!!! Love and Laughter. Ciao for now. Pattixx

RadioMaster 15 Sep 2006 20:51

Goodbye and good luck for everything you will do now.

Letīs hope that Meat finds somebody to replace her, although I doubt that this is possible.

djfierce 15 Sep 2006 20:54

The best partner Meat has ever had in my opinion! I'm sure she will be sorely missed :(

No way! Honestly, I will not give any chance for the new duet partner.

RadioMaster 15 Sep 2006 20:57

Patti was great, but we should give the new girl, whoever itīll be at least a chance.

Be Fair Macrapper.

We don't know who the new member will be so we will not pre-judge.

I would've thought Marion has got her own career to think about. It certainly does seem to be a bad time and a bit sudden!

This has made me cry !!!

I  this woman to bits she can't leave!

I am crying like mad right now!

I have seen it coming and am very saddened by it. I won't speculate here, I have theories but I would like to know the (true) details.

meatloaf-unofficial 15 Sep 2006 21:24

Well, will she say bye to us at the show ????? why, why, why !! I feel so sad

Thanks, and we ask everyone to keep from doing that.

mszee 15 Sep 2006 21:52

This is VERY sad and unexpected to me news considering that 2007 tour is supposedly coming up in just a few months.

I doubt very much Marion will the replacement since she doesn't have the right voice for every song that Meat sings and she is working on solo career.

Very sorry to hear the news, hope for a new great singer and good luck to Patti wherever she goes!!!

Ageing Bat 15 Sep 2006 21:58

I'm gutted..... This news has taken the edge off my excitement before the RAH concert, and the release of Bat III.

Patti, if you're reading these messages, you will be sorely missed. I wish you all the very best for the future.

Pudding 15 Sep 2006 22:10

To be honest I'm not totally surprised, a bit surprised by the timing, but not shocked over the news. Patti's a great talent in her own right and has been in Meats shadow for a long time.

I wish her well in whatever she does.

Pud

Leah 15 Sep 2006 22:12

Oooohhh i'm so upset by this news, I can't believe it. Patti was and is the best, the band will not be the same without her (even with another woman). Patti you'll be sorely missed :(
But you must have your reasons for this and so I wish you all the best for whatever you persue from now on.

Guppie 15 Sep 2006 22:14

So sorry to see her go... she is such a great singer.

Benny 15 Sep 2006 22:14

Chris 15 Sep 2006 22:17

Sad news but good luck for the future in whatever you decide to do.

(convincing them to do Notre Dame in London would be A Good Thing hint hint!!)

Eva 15 Sep 2006 22:19

"wait a minute - so Eva can you ask her - why ????"

***

I am sorry, but NO! I don't think that is our business!
If Patti or Meat wish to tell thats okay of course, but I won't ask!!
BTW: I didn't ask Patti anything, she wrote the email out of her own wish to me to let you all know that she left the band. :?

thanks for answering it:D She is the only one that will ever be able to support Meat on stage with the singing as she did. She has helped Meat alot and Id Do anything for Love - well, she did the very first live song and she made the duet bit hers, and no one ever will replace that !!!!!

Patti,
Thank-you for the last 13 years! They were fantastic! So very sad to see you leave, maybe someday we will come to know why. Thanx for the many times you took time to stop and have a chat. I am so glad I was able to hear you perform in Notre Dame, We will rock you, & TSO. And of course through all the tours with Meat! I, along with many others, will miss you dearly! I think you have an amazing voice and wish you success and happiness in all that you do in the future!

I may catch hell for saying this, but here goes. Someone will fill her spot but she will never be replaced IMO.

I'm sorry but i hope that cc is NOT replacing patti............

AndrewG 16 Sep 2006 00:01

This is quite sad news indeed. :-(
Patti was a Rock in Meat's band. She got better as the years went on. Quite surprised she is chosing to leave now, just before the Bat 3 tour. She looked great at the Toms River Fest show and no doubt performed really well.
Quite ashame she will not be at RAH.

Maybe Meat could find Patti's replacement on the X factor. He would make an excellent guest judge! LOL

Monstro 16 Sep 2006 00:07

I haven't felt like I've been hit so hard since me motorbike got written off!!

Like to thank Patti for some wonderful music and performances (NEC Birmingham best performance of Paradise I've seen!!).

Best way we can all say thanks is to support her in whatever she does next.

I am so saddened by this news. :( :(

To quote Loaferman61 " someone will fill her space, but she will never be REPLACED". Patti was the best singing partner Meat has ever had.

All the best for the future Patti, wherever it takes you... Please know that you will be GREATLY MISSED.

And Thank You.. for all the enjoyment you have given us, over the last 13 yrs.

What a shame. My wife and I became HUGE fans of Meat after we discovered Patti...We went on to realize that Patti was to Meat what Abbott was to Costello, what Laurel was to Hardy and what Martin was to Lewis. We were so looking forward to the Bat 3 tour. Now we learned their won't be any Patti on this tour. While we'll continue to support Meat by buying his CDs, this terrible news has ended our needs to watch Meat in concert, it'll never be the same for us. Good luck in the future, Meat, we love you, but the live concert experience will never be the same for us without Patti in the pitcture. We'll always remember last August when you played the Beacon and how great that chemistry between you and Patti was. Melbourne will always be your greatest concert, we'll keep watching it til our DVD explodes. Good luck to you both, Meat and Patti.

I loved Patti's part as much as Meat's, and I wish you best of your dreams and good luck :) You're an amazing woman, and you will forever be heard not only by my ears. And a site seen not by my eyes. Keeping your voice near as long as I'm lways alive.

Sad to see Patti Go

:shens: She won't say but it maybe cause they got Marion....maybe the 2 of them don't get along.....Sad thought 13 good years and know it's Bye Bye....She said before she would tour with Meat if she got the call....Why know? I can't see anyone other then Patti. I will miss seeing the clips of her and Meat horseing around on Paradise. Don't worry all it will come out in the end one day. I do agree with those who say they can't see anyone other then Patti. :boohoo:

Bye 4 Now

BTW Patti I wish you all the Luck in the world and hope you you have fun in whatever you do.....But remember alway look on the bright side of life you had 13 years of good memorys.

DIZZY DRUMMER 16 Sep 2006 08:02

Patti you will be missed terribly - but good luck in whatever adventure you are on next.

Whoever Meat gets to take Patti's place will have to be exceptional. It won't be easy !!

sunneke 16 Sep 2006 09:34

Well had a few hours to understand that Patti really left. I understand that after 13 years, she wants to go on. You cannot blame her for that! Afcourse i will mis her at RAH. She was so d.. good! The one that has to replace her, will have a real hard job to let us forget Patti. Personally i hope that she is not gonna be replaced at all. I cannot see CC or Marion Raven in her place. Nothing wrong about them, but they just are not good enough to sing and act like patti could imo.

Patti, i wish you all the best! And i am very said about the fact that we cannot say goodbye to you, and wish you the best at RAH. You derserve that! A mail is not enough to thank you! I hope that you change youre mind so that we can personally thank you also for the great years you have given us.

ROSIE 16 Sep 2006 09:39

Good luck Patti with all you future plans. you will be missed. Not just as a wonderful performer but as a very gracious lady we met on several occasions and you were very generous with your time and attention. Memories I will treasure.

Good luck

I agree Eva ... however will you ask Patti to read all these messages please?

Personally I am totally devastated by this news. It is a disaster on the eve of a big promotion and subsequent tour. Not only is Patti by far the greatest singer and performer ever to grace the Neverland Express she was the perfect foil for Meat.

There will be a replacement but there can be no adequate replacement because you can't replace the best. Patti is without equal.

Patti has a special place in the heart of Meat's fans and always will. I never had the good fortune to be able to stop and talk to her but I did see her backstage at Sheffield on the CHSIB Tour and she was such a beautiful woman, said "hello" and I know from all the comments how kind she was to fans.

Whatever precipitated this will no doubt emerge at some point but I cannot conceive a tour without Patti ... terrible news.

How about a "bring back Patti" campaign?

Good luck Patti in all you do ... we love you.

We don't know yet whether this is a voluntary exit or an enforced one. I pray it is not the latter. I am so devastated and angry.

Having seen all tours since 1982 Patti is the greatest.

There should have be an official statement from Meat's management confirming why this has happened. Patti played the Summer gig at Tom's River so she was clearly part of the plan at that time.

What has changed since then? We should be told! Fans deserve an answer.

Please ... on all future postings on this topic sign off with .... BRING BACK PATTI.

Why? Perhaps Patti is doing exactly what Patti wants to do...finally.

It's amazing me how selfish some people are, because they're certainly not thinking about what's in the best interest for Patti but more what's in the best interest for themselves.

Pud

Susi 16 Sep 2006 11:43

That's a good point, Pudding.

I think we should just respect Patti's decision. We don't have any right to demand from her - like some people here did - to do what might seem right to them (or to us). The only thing that really matters is that the decision is the right one for Patti and that SHE feels good about it!

Susi

RadioMaster 16 Sep 2006 12:04

As much as we dont like what weīve heard...life goes on! I know that nobody wants to hear that, but Meat will find another duet partner and maybe sheīll be great too. Who knows? Who could have thought of Patti when Karla sang, and now itīs the same. (I just assume that because when Karla sang i was about -10 to -5 years old)

Please dont kill me now! *hides*

I am so surprised that so many people on this board need to scrutinise everything so much.

Perhaps she is ... I've never said anything other ... if you choose to read the posts carefully. I can assure you that Patti's best interests are certainly close to my heart. The timing of this is not good for promo ... why has no official announcement been made I wonder?

I want Patti to do what she wants to do ... I just hope it's her decision and she is to pursue a solo career, she deserves to get individual success.

you never know - she might be leaving the band after the next tour - but just letting people know that she will be leaving but not just yet

I would really love and so would others if she could be on the tour for Bat 3 as it could well be the last ever tour that Meat will do ( I hope not though )

I wish Patti all the luck in the world.
I was very upset yesterday hearing the news for the first time but I will support her in whatever path she chooses, we cannot judge or force her decision otherwise, so I think the best we can do is show our love and support at this time, we do not know the circumstances or situation behind this and I think when the time is right we will be enlightened but until then we should just respect her wish to have left.
I would be liying if I said I wouldn't miss her because she has filled the space for thirteen years now, there are many reasons why she probably wanted to leave but I don't analize them because I do not know the full extent of this. I love you Patti, if you read this and I wish you all the joy, luck and success for the future.

Eva, I am not at all saying that what you posted isn't true...please do not misunderstand me...

I am just saying that this kind of news is usually announced in a somewhat different manner...even RR people seem to be shocked and devastated right now...nobody knows about RAH...nobody knows about Broadway...nobody knows about upcoming tour...and everybody is wondering about the same thing...

And although we will probably never find out the real reason why she left and it is ok - I think as fans we do deserve to know a bit more and from more direct and official channels.

 My feelings on this now are that i'm upset, angry, and feeling let down.

I thought it was strange that Marion was given the "big" duet on Bat III while Patti was put a little further down the line. But Patti continued to work on the album, and she was at the NJ show, so although thinking it was strange, everything looked fine between them.

Now this?

At this time?

In 4 weeks and two days, Meat is gonna take on the RAH.
It's the only gig in the UK this year.

It's also looking to be, by far, the biggest congregation on mlukfc.

It's going to be a hell of an event.

How can a replacment for Patti be found at such short notice?

Can you imagine Marion Raven singing Paradise or Anything For Love? :wtf:

PLEASE GOD NO

We've suported Patti for thirteen years now.
She's been a BIG thing about being a Meat fan.

Now, after all those years, she leaves like this.

Nothing official, just an e mail to a fan saying "would you mind posting this?"

WE'VE BEEN DUMPED BY E MAIL :faint:

This just isn't right.

I don't know if Patti left, or Meat fired her, but I do know i'm angry at the person who took the decission that Patti would not be at RAH.

If it were annouced that this will be Patti's last show and she will be leaving the band after that, we'd at least have a chance to say goodbye, and she'd have a chance to say goodbye to us (assuming she gives a damn, because at the moment it looks like there is someone who doesn't).

If Patti joined us at the RAH, there would have been celebration.

A big send off in front of people who genuinly love her.

We could have accepted that a lot better.

To go like this is a disgrace

Meat has said nothing on the issue, and people have pointed out that it's nothing to do with us why she left, but without some kind of explination, don't ask us to understand.

Meat, Patti, I don't know what's happened, but for Gods sake do what is right and let us say goodbye properly.

Sorry, but is it a Patti-tour or a Meat Loaf-tour ??

Of course we do know about RAH - we have even bought tickets!!

And I remember 1997: All of a sudden Steven Buslow left the band without ONE word....

What you wrote sounds as if you think she owes us something - but she doesn't! She has given us such a lot of wonderful shows and memories. We should be grateful to her instead of blaming her!

What worries me Mousie is that there is no official management line from Meat's side. You would have thought given Patti's significance and status in the band there would have been some announcement.

I would have thought if Patti's sole reason for leaving was to pursue a solo career she would have said. I don't see it as Patti dumping us ... there seems to be more to it given the brevity of her e-mail and the lack of response from anywhere else. I think Patti saw the speculation on this site arising from her not being seen at the rehearsals and tried to respond to the concerns some expressed. I have no doubt Patti has always considered the fans which is why everyone loved her and why we are all so upset.

My guess is they already have a replacement or temporary stand-in but however good that person is they won't be Patti ... I know an in-law of mine won't go to any future concert if Patti isn't there and he means it!

Interesting they sold all the tickets before this came up don't you think?

Can't get to the RAH but we'll see the tour ... but without Patti the impact on vocals won't be the same and that will unfortunately be noticeable. It's a pity 'cos I always viewed this as the last real significant tour with a chance to say goodbye to everyone in the band but now ...

This is somewhat strange comment to what I was trying to say...

Of course, it's Meat Loaf tour!

But Patti has been part of this for 13-14 years now. The BEST years in my opinion since BatI for Meat Loaf and his fans. To deny now her existence and the fact that in all these years she was absolutely fantastic and earned her own fan following among us - Loafers - is impossible.

You can't compare Patti's departure with that of Steven Buslow, I am sorry...

Yes, Albert Hall is going forward and people have tickets...but who is going to be lead female vocalist? That's the question...

I don't know what happened.

I just know that this is no way for her to go.

Now wether it was Patti's decission, or if it was Meat's, that is another thing.

I am so surprised that so many people on this board need to scrutinise everything so much.

Meat will go on without Patti. Patti will go on without Meat.

Yes for me, it makes a different. For example, after Tom Cruise turning to the ulimate scientology member, I don't watch his movies longer. (I really liked his movies, but after his appearances in the public:? )

If it was Pattis decision, I have to live with that and wish her all the best. If it was other circumstances, it changes some things.

Never mind, here something else: This is a "tribute footage" to Patti from mimi from the batland (sorry, I really have problems with "of" and "from", in German it is one word:oops: )

Great video!

LostSoul 16 Sep 2006 15:15

@Patti
Break a leg! ;) You've been part of our lives, we'll never forget you.

@Eva
Thanx for the vid, how sweet... :ko:

Of course I can compare Patti's departure with that of Steven Buslow, he was many many years the musical director of the band and he had a HUGE bunch of fans as well!!

...and we will see and hear who is going to be the lead female vocalist in time, I am sure!!

Please do stop all this asking and complaining now! I think all this is new to Patti, to Meat and all the band members.
We should give them a little bit more time!!

Think about if you were Patti: Wouldn't all that asking and complaining hurt you??

Nobody is blaming anybody...but EVERY artist owes something to their fans...because without their fans...don't know where they would be...

Leah 16 Sep 2006 15:20

Patti was gracious and kind enough to send us all an email through Eva. She didn't have to do that but she did. I think we should respect Patti's desicion and if she or Meat want to tell us more then thats down to them to do so. Of course i'd love to know 'why' but until either one of them says why, we shouldn't really assume or speculate on the matter.
But the NLE will not be the same without her. :( Even my family who i've converted into Meat fans over the years are saddened by the news.
To many of us Patti is irreplaceable nomatter who takes over from her. She has forged her own fans throughout the years and I think she will always have a place in the heart of a Loafer

mszee 16 Sep 2006 15:21

Mike Percy, I am sorry but I didn't understand your post - can you please explain?
