And there's the one where she's headlining in Camden, 21st I think.

LucyK! 15 Feb 2008 11:26

It's far to early to think...

Pearl will be heading lining in Camden on March 21st, and opening for Velvet Revolver on the dates I posted

Monstro 15 Feb 2008 11:29

Taken from Pearls MySpace bulletin

"We're headlining at London's Barfly-Camden on March 21st"

That's not far from me, looks like I've a night out coming up lol

Tickets are £9 each but there's no information as yet as to who's on the bill with her.

djfierce 15 Feb 2008 11:48

yay i was gutted i didnt get to see her on the cancelled tour, i'm really looking forward to this :))

AndyK 15 Feb 2008 12:18

There's an interview with Pearl here, seems she's only doing half the tour though, as the full Velvet Revolver UK tour starts on March 15th.

PEARL, a name all together fresh and rooted in rock ‘n’ roll history, is flying onto the music scene breaking the social traditions that have become the U.S. rock norm. Headed up by the whiskey soaked voice of Pearl Aday, daughter of music icon Meat Loaf, this album will smash through the anonymity and secure her rightful place in rock history.

Pearl Aday has an innate talent capable of conveying powerful emotion through heart-stomping, primal, rock-and-roll singing. “There is no real female rock anymore,” states Aday. “I will be the chick to bring it back.” In the veins of Janis Joplin, Aerosmith and all great hard rock blues filled artists, PEARL’s debut album is explosive, crushing, real and soulful with it’s natural fusion of blues and rock..

Aday’s vocal intensity proves a perfect match for the high-energy music of PEARL. “I grew up surrounded by rock ‘n’ roll, soul, blues, funk, and country. It’s what I love. It’s what I’m made of. It’s in my blood.” PEARL was produced and engineered by Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age). Aday is backed by the musical talent of Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Jim Wilson (lead Guitar/vocals), Marcus Blake (bass/vocals), and Matt Tecu (drums) of the band Mother Superior, with special performances by Ted Nugent on the blistering track “Check Out Charlie”, and Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains) on the dark and beautiful track “Anything”.

Diane 22 Mar 2008 12:48

Any of you lucky people got reviews & pics from last night?

Diane

djfierce 22 Mar 2008 13:43

i think we're all still recovering Diane :))

Well what can i say in this brief time i have.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!

M has all the great pics so he'll get round to it this afternoon, we've gotta go pick casey up now. Dopey here forgot to charge her camera so it dies after a couple of pics

Sound set up was pretty bad but Pearl looked amazing and sounded great when the sound was ok.

Set list:

http://media.mlxxfc.net/pearl gig 228.JPG

'Whore' was amazing, scott told the crowd that 'nobody' had been played the day before on a major rock station (i forgot which one he said sorry) i really liked 'nutbush' as well, nice to see a little nod to older classic rock songs as well. Probably the hardest rocking version of 'cherry bomb' i've ever heard too.

It was only a small venue but it was pretty packed and the crowd really seemed to enjoy it as did we :))

She does deserve a much bigger venue/stage though, i am gutted i didnt get to see her with Meat in Nov.

Nice to finally meet you Michelle, although i have to admit i haven't quite recovered from the experience just yet ;) also nice to meet you too Stu, look forward to doing it again at a Meat show. As always an absolute pleasure to see Deb and Dave again, can't wait to do it again with you guys :-P

Anyway i think i've rambled enough. Hope this all makes sense Diane :))

Diane 22 Mar 2008 14:15

Thanks Anji, great review! Can't wait to see Michael's pics.

Was Nutbush as in Nutbush City Limits?

I did see Pearl in November and she rocks so my thoughts were with you guys last night.

Diane

djfierce 22 Mar 2008 18:11

Shame you couldn't make it Diane :( i think i'm yet to meet you :?

Yes it was nutbush city limits and it was an awesome rendition. The whole set sounded cool, though as i said before the sound set up was poor so alot of the time you struggled to hear pearl above the band but when you did omg what a voice!!!

If any of you guys have her performing near you i strongly suggest you go and see her, she was headlining last night whereas i understand she is supporting for the other shows but still worth a look :))
