interesting...

my guess would be the Rockpalast show from Offenbach, Germany, 1978.

I know that those songs were performed, never thought they were recorded/broadcasted though.
Also this seems to be filmed a lot better than said show.....:?

I'd much rather see the rest of the show!

Chris77 17 Sep 2008 17:07

This is from the Offenbach 1978 show filmed in full length for the Rockpalast broadcast.
But I am not sure if the whole thing was ever aired. This does not look like an aired version because of the timer clock.

The whole thing wasn't aired...only about 3 or 4 songs. The full thing is out there though. I know - I have a copy, but it does have the annoying timer the whole way through.

it looks to me like the picture/sound quality is a lot better than the tv version, am I right or it that just my impression?

Chris77 17 Sep 2008 18:54

Perfect Quality. And complete show.

Sarge 17 Sep 2008 20:08

Wonderful! Does anybody have a setlist of the complete show?

RadioMaster 17 Sep 2008 20:14

yep

Sarge 17 Sep 2008 20:16

Great, thank you! :D

"Live At Father's Place" 1978 - where was that filmed?
According to the rockoplast site

RadioMaster 17 Sep 2008 20:40

fathers place was only a radio (=audio) broadcast.

I think someone said a few years ago that this show will not be released by the Rockpalast DVD Collection because they are not allowed to from the management. A proper release would be great.
Do more videos from this early period exist (not from that show)?

I wonder why. It is much better than 3 Bats Live and a piece of music history. The Rockpalast DVD series contains some of the best shows ever performed, too bad Meat's concert has not been included yet.

Why I wonder..... Is it something to do with the rights to the songs or something like that? Or is the answer sitting right under my nose ;-)?

Chris77 18 Sep 2008 18:41

I believe they were not allowed to by the management. That's the information given in the other thread on a German board long ago.........

pomegranate 19 Sep 2008 17:33

Thanks for posting that, those are awesome! :D

For crying out loud 06 Oct 2008 22:15

the vids are brilliant, love it when meat plays up on stage, when he kept going for her breasts and stuff. dunno bout anyone else bit i think he also looks like he was having way more fun back then!!! Amazing :D

RadioMaster 06 Oct 2008 22:26

agree with you there!

btw, the intro (!) to paradise alone from this show lasts for 15 minutes with a nearly 5 min drum solo! If this is what Meat & Jim played to the record companies I dont really wonder why they were rejected so many times lol

I dont remember Meat ever mentioning a drummer or guitarist during the record company shows. It was only meat, Jim, Rory, and Karla. Byt that doesn't rule out a 15 minute Piano intro.

On a side note, wonder why River Deep and Johnny B Goode were not B Sides to Paradise and 2/3. Would've probably made those singles better with exclusive content.

i used to work in a video shop (not dvd) lol im old!!!!
the clock is called a "timecode" its a promo video we used to get them to watch films 4 months before the movie came out!

Didnt mean specifically this intro, what I meant was that it surely gives a drift of how Jim imagines a proper concert/album to look/sound like. In that way I can imagine they did something similar for the record companies.
