Bad For Good

I have just been listening to Bad For Good and whilst listening to it I often wonder how Meat's Career might have been different had he have recorded it.
I wonder if it would have been bigger than Bat or if Meat would have recorded Deadringer or even Bat 2 had he recorded BFG.

I know a few tracks are on Bat 2 and Welcome To The Neighbourhood, but maybe these albums would never have been made and tracks such as Anything For Love, Life Is A Lemon, Deadringer, Im gonna Love Her For Both Of Us and Objects in the rear view mirror would never have seen the light of day.

I personally would love to hear Bad For Good (the song) on Bat 3.

Meat has done Bad For Good live... he has done more stuff of the Steinman album live, like Dance In my Pants....

And it is nice to hear!!

Renegade Angel 09 May 2003 23:13

I know he performed it live - I saw him on the Lost Boys And Golden Girls tour in 1988 and he performed most of the tracks I was wondering how his career would have gone had he have recorded it and not Deadringer.

Think the career would be much different. Maybe Meat Loaf would now have his break down orso... You will never know. Glad that is gone this way....

He, if you know everything in front..... then you can travel around the world for 10 cents.

Hi All I am a new member just joined this cool group. Ive heard some of the songs from Bad For Good by meat and he does an awesome job, his career would had more sustainability if he was able to record Bad for good the album, but If he did, the comeback he had in 93 with I would do anything for love wouldnt been as special. I am looking forward to being apart of the board and looking forward to the new album and seeing meat for the first time live

Welcome to the MLUKFC message boards! Awesome to have you join us here! I would have to agree that Meat Loaf performing Bad For Good will always bring the chills up my spine!

Hi Jack, and welcome to the board! Whereabouts are you going to see Meat live?

Suslak615 10 May 2003 00:05

Hi, I live near Boston so I hope to see him at a concert in Mass, Ive heard rumors there could be a show at a big fair in Springfield Mass in Sept. I also know there is a show in NH but not sure if i can make it up there. I would like to see him but nothing set yet.

Welcome Jack

I went to the Lost Boys and Golden Girls concert at the Hammersmith Apollo - and felt it was one of the best I've been too - and believe I've been to a good many - the smaller venue are more accoustically sound and more intimate. The was the occasion when I was able to touch Meats trousers to try and pull the thonging out. Didn't succeed though :(

Is that the gig where Richard O' Brien andd Mel Smith joined him on stage?

Well I don't remember them being there that particluar night - but it was a fantasic show as I said before

Renegade Angel 10 May 2003 20:24

I think he did a few nights at that venue on that tour.
I saw him in Sheffield on the same tour - it was my first ever gig and I was only 11 years old, but I'll always remember it.
It was especially good because my Dad had bought me a copy of Bad For Good by Jim a few weeks before and I had got into it quite a lot, so when I saw meat perform these songs LIVE, I couldn't believe my luck.

It was really great to see the gig in a small venue such as the city hall - I wish Meat would have done a few small gigs in the UK on the storytellers tour, that would have been excellent!

dottie 10 May 2003 20:27

Yes I certainly agree the smaller venues offer such an intimate atmostphere - thats if you can tickets

Ben 10 May 2003 20:29

yeah i would have loved to have seen the storytellers tour hit the UK.

I saw a Lost Boys and Golden Girlstour show in Dusseldorf, 24 of april 1988. And it is the best concert i have ever seen. His voice was very very very very great in 1988 and the show was like a play, a rockopera. he entered the stage in a straightjacket, he played Captain Hook with one eye and a hawk, during Dance in my pants he was sitting in a wheelchair, in the end of the song he was dancing between graves and skeletons. It was one big piece of theatre and i have never seen anything like that :D

Saw the video from Vienna 1988-show > totally agree with you ! Big Man as Cpt. Hook with fantastic voice, cool show and big hits like "Bad For Good".

Bye from Kai

Renegade Angel 11 May 2003 20:09

Where did you get this video? - I would love to see it - is there any chance that I could get hold of a copy? - I would cover the costs ect

Let me know!

Ben 11 May 2003 20:12
