patti or lorraine

can somebody clear this one up . the video of i do anything for love , is the lyrics sung by lorraine crosby , and patti russo , is on the video but not singing. like when ellen foley , sung on the bat album , but was not on the video as it was kala devito:O:O:O:O:O:O

Sarge 04 Mar 2009 02:45

It's not Patti in the video, it's a model named Dana Patrick. I think the Ellen/Karla case is a bit different, since Karla had replaced Ellen as a member of the band. Those old videos looked like live performances, so they feature band members. The Anything video tells a movie like story and is designed for making a great visual impact. Have a look at Bonnie Tyler's Loving You's A Dirty Job video, for instance: Todd Rundgren sings on the record but you see another guy in the video. Many Meat Loaf videos involve a lot of professional acting and create certain images, so the person who sings a particular part on the record might not exactly fit the character that is supposed to be represented in the video. Don't expect music videos to be authentic. ;)

And I think she was in the video for I'd Lie For You as well. I must admit when I first saw the video I assumed it was Patti as well as I hadn't seen much footage of her back in those days, but when I watched it a few times realised it was someone else. I used to think it was her singing on ther album too till I found out otherwise.

Yes, she was. I think it was meant to be a sequel to I'd Do Anything For Love. One of his best videos, in my opinion. I love the Indiana Jones and The Living Daylights references. Unfortunately, two people were killed in an accident during the making of the video, as far as I remember.

Yeah I really love the video as well, a pity they don't do them like that any more. I just found out recently about the 2 people who died, that's a real shame, very tragic.
