Meat Loaf vs. Jim Steinman

Hello,

There have been many controversies between Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman, but how is their friendship today? Is it still cold and nearly none existing? Anyone who knows?

Some newly made contributions from Jim Steinman for the forthcoming Meat Loaf album would make my day :D

MeatGrl1 08 Apr 2009 02:43

Is this topic even allowed to be discussed ?

RSG 08 Apr 2009 02:43

Your english is great here!

I think its fair to say that only the two men can say for sure. Even than, words can never convey, everything our hearts has to say.
I must be honest, that is not my line. My dad gave it to me on a christmas card once. I'm just starting at life. It means an awfully lot to me.

Why should it not be allowed to discuss this?

carole 08 Apr 2009 05:02

I think that is something that is between Meat and Jim and we shouldn't get involved in it.

I think the conflict are relevant for the music and the fans, because if the relationship is back to normal, maybe we'll see some newly made contributions from Jim on the forthcoming record?

I'm not starting this thread for digging out dirty secrets or spreading hearsay, so I really dont understand the scepticism of debating this...

I think Meat has already said that Jim is not going to be on this album but who knows.

It's a long (winded) story that has taken many twists and turns. I think what MeatGrl was trying to suggest was that maybe this kind of topic has been done to death over the years.

RadioMaster 08 Apr 2009 09:45

I predict, with my future telling powers, that this thread will be locked....

Making a comment about a subject matter whether it to be everyone's taste or not isn't getting involved.

I believe Meat and Jims friendship is the same as it always was, on again, off again, on again, off again, like a pair of hookers knickers on a busy Friday night.

Pud

:lmao: So was Bat III sloppy-thirds or just a skidmark in the history of BooH?

Also, what does that make Sonenberg? ;-)

doesnt this discussion get a little tiresome? We always end up with the same conclusion!! :-) (no offence intended for pc-ness)

Pudding 08 Apr 2009 11:16

Since no one has taken either side and slagged off the other, I think this discussion is quite unique with a completely new conclusion :))

For crying out loud 08 Apr 2009 11:31

i dont understand this idea that "were not allowed to discuss this" it happened when i asked somthing before. this is a fanclub for meatloaf so if fans want to question somthing surely this is the place to do so. none us may have the answers, but do we have to make it sound so much like a secret society. making anyone who asks "the wrong questions" feel really akward.

RadioMaster 08 Apr 2009 11:41

of course were allowed to discuss this subject, people who say otherwise are just stupid. The only problem is, that most of these threads turn into a slagging-match between Meat and Jim fans, and I'm afraid a thread title like this isnt really helpful on that matter.

nikox1 08 Apr 2009 19:05

here here,,,, as i always have said! if they really want to work together they would? as much as the bat out of hells have been a blessing for them, they have always been a curse too. im sure they both have great respect for each other, as we the fans also respect both men. i do think that before meat retires they will do something together [ maybe not a full album ] but maybe some new songs?

daveake 08 Apr 2009 19:11

Full album? No chance IMO. A track or two? I think so.

Agreed...but probably nothing at all together in my honest opinion...

before i even seen the reply! i knew it would be in response to something i wrote:D im so :O

bat out of hell 3 went ahead for a good reason, jim doesnt seem to be writing songs for anybody these days [ and even as the legend he is ] he does write slowly, so usually record companys dont wait!

nikox1 08 Apr 2009 23:00

i would like to add, judging by the joke that the bat out of hell musical is becoming? i think meat was right to go and give bat 3 hes best shot!! not everyone likes it [ but he did hes best ] i think jim is an amazing writer, but he seems to always come with so much baggage! hey maybe thats part of hes genius? but they will probably do a song or 2 together:shock:

Pudding 08 Apr 2009 23:10

Just because we haven't heard anything from Jim in a while, along long while, doesn't mean he hasn't been writing. That said, I agree, the Bat musical has become a bit of a joke.

Pud

nikox1 08 Apr 2009 23:47

you agreed with something i said?;)
it is a shame that it will probably not happen:(
jim seems to have surrounded himself with morans:(
well, what can you do:|

nikox1 08 Apr 2009 23:48

i mean morons? anyway

and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the beginning of the argument that gets this sort of thread locked.
