Question about AFL live performances

Hi, why does Meat never sing the sex drums and rock and roll lyrics while singing anything for love live?

I don't know for certain, but if I had to guess then Meat misses out the second verse for one of two reasons:

1) It's too tough for him to sing the whole song

OR / AND

b) It's very long and he wants to save time.

i beleive he beleives everyone is more familiar with the radio edit nad wants time for other songs. He cant cut corners with paradise, but AFL he can.

IMo i really dont mind. AFL's ship sailed with me back in 1999

Think it is the time saving thing myself. I've never heard Meat do the whole version of AFL live. Though live the song still comes in at around the 10+ minute mark due to spur of the moment pauses etc. I believe he started to take out the second verse since the Born to Rock tour in 95/96.

Nah BTR tour had the second verse accounted for. he took it out during the storytellers tour and has ever since

I have only ever heard Meat sing the full version live once compaired to countless times in its shortened form and I can honestly say that in my opinion it does not lose anything.
Meats performance and the magic that he puts in his songs make sure that its enthralling

I have to say I like hearing all the different arrangements Meat comes up with for the song. Didn't Meat say in a docu saying that he liked to make the song different? perhaps it was due some radio interview.... o it was during 07/08 anyways.

I liked the guitar lib in the 2007 tour version :-)

No it didn't. Meat dropped the second verse after the Bat 2 tour. The Born To Rock tour had:

Quote:

I would do anything for love, anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that.

in the middle of it. Unique to this tour. There's a video of it here:

You're wrong. It was first dropped in 95.

I still think the most brilliant "edit" of the song live was the extremely short version on the Hair of the Dog tour!

Evil One 27 Jul 2009 15:50

I'm at the other end of the scale. My favourite is the full song on the Bat 2 tour!
