There are three different versions of Bat II on vinyl:
1 the regular (black) version (V 2710) 2 the picture disc (VP 2710) 3 the double vinyl version from Zimbabwe (VIR 129) The sound quality of the first two versions is atrocious. And if the regular version is hard to find, the 2LP version is nearly impossible to find. |
i agree with u the picture vp 2710 is bad first time i ever played it thought it was my turntable
yea i have collected a lot of meat loaf but never seen the black vinyl and i even have a lot of clear vinyl in live at europe 82 but the black one has eluded me |

It the single black vinyl Bat II crops up on ebay fairly regularly, not seen the Zimbabwean double disc though, so I can only presume that's rarer than the CHSIB vinyl, which I seen for auction once ;-)

 It may be woth noting that there doesn't seem to have been a lyric sheet issued with the standard Bat II vinyl edition.
That is to say, i've never seen a lyric sheet with any of the examples i've encoutered. Perhaps someone can prove me wrong? |

The one I have is fairly good quality from my memory, think I'll have to listen to it again |
heres something interesting in my hay days of collecting meat loaf rare stuff i have come across a bat out of hell II Dark blue Vinyl not the picture disc has a big A in black on a white circle and B on a white circle on reverse side , must be a promo any ideas or clues or does ""Meat"" Know anything about it ????
|
Very interesting, I've never heard of that. I've only seen the promo CD which came in a digipak, never seen a promo vinyl. Maybe it was a kind of test before finally deciding whether to release it on black or colored vinyl or as a picture disc?

If I remember rightly it was on a site that used to be used by many record dealers around the world to advertise their stuff (it was a fecking wicked site, and very much missed). I can't remember why I didn't have a crack at it. Either it was a silly price, or it didn't tickle my fancy at that moment in time  |
hi yea i think it may have been a silly price, but in them days i just bought everything that looked rare as i say not sure if its a promo doesnt mention it on label if u like i can take a picture of it if people want to see it. bit like the clear vinyl i bought at that time to,
so i guess the next question what is the rarest meat loaf item ??? and if i can be bold as to say whats the rarest bootleg item |
