Who do you miss most from the NLE?
 

The recent STeve B thread got me thinking this.

No poll, as theres far more then 15 choices

I miss Steve and the Goffs the most

Bob Kulick and Steve Buslowe. Never been replaced as far as im concered. No disrespect to the members who followed them but they were amazing players who i enjoyed watching and hearing.

Steve by far.

As for the Goffs. For me they were eye-candy. Perfect until they started opening their mouths :twisted:

I agree with you. I've got so used to seeing Meat with two backing vocalists that it seems strange just to see him with just one.

Patti and Paul are still there so no-one :heart: !!

Oh wait I miss not seeing CC, it seemed wrong being she was at every show I went to prior to Wembley and Newcastle last year !

Mine's based on the band members that I've actually seen live who have left, not sure I could "miss" people like the Goffs because I never saw them. So based on the NLE line-ups I've known - 1996 onwards - the person I miss the most is Mark.

Musically either Bob Kulick or Mark Alexander. For enthusiasm on stage Steve Buslowe. Eye candy .. .I'm taking the fifth! Other than that Alan Merrill or Brian Chatten are both great blokes and on a personal level they're missed.

Nobody ... as long as Randy, John and Patti never leave :-)
Although I admit it did seem strange not seeing CC up on stage in Dover.

I always thought alan looked like Mick Jagger with his tight clothes. WIsh i couldve saw him with the NLE in person.

If John or Paul Leave, I don't think the band could recover. Especially if John Leaves. They survived without patti for a year but id hate to think of the NLE without John. Makes me cringe.

When Andy asks what you want for Christmas, you pick up a catalogue and point to a purple and yellow backpack is when you really should start to worry! :lol:

The loss of any of the long standing members of the band would be a blow, but to say that the band couldn't recover is an overstatement I think.

Over the years the NLE has lost many long standing members at one point or another (Steve Buslowe, Bob Kulick, Wells Kelly to name three) and survived, Mark and Kasim leaving last year was a blow to the band yet we're witnessing one of Meat's most succesful tours for at least a decade. The change in line up has over the last 30 years led to changes in the live show arrangements, sometimes for the better and rarely (in the long term) for the worse. IMO

End of the day, whilst the NLE is an important factor in the live show recipe they a backing band. You can't compare the NLE band members leaving, to (for example) Keith Richards or Charlie Watts leaving the Rolling Stones now that's an event that would signal the end of that band.

They didn't really survive without Patti. The tour was a complete disaster and ended up getting cancelled. I know Meat was sick but a lot of it had to do with Patti's absence as well. They always find great musicians for the band but I think Patti is the one who is irreplacable.

I don't miss anyone. I think the band is perfect right now.

Youre right. But I mean Johns been there the second longest after Meat. It would be hard for me to take another drummer seriously. I cant see anyone better then john in that seat :shrug:

The person I miss the most from the NLE is Jim Steinman.:-)

I think I'd miss John and Patti from the lineup if they went as they've been such a fantastic part of the NLE for so long now and to a degree I think I'd miss Randy and Paul. The only people from the current lineup I'm not sure I'd miss is Justin, Danny and Dave and that's merely because I don't know much about them yet.

This time last year people said the same about Kasim and Mark. ;)

On the other hand, my first show was Bat 2 so for me, it seemed strange to have 2 female singers. I never really understood the point. Now everyone in the band has a distinct purpose.

She is indeed a nice lady, but her absence doesn't affect the quality of the show. Some songs like Boneyard sound much better with Patti & Justin's vocals, same with LOTO.
