Cheer up, Wario- it seems as if Billy might not be done after all:

So cool to see Chicago on the short list. I'd love to see The Stranger done front to back.

 I saw New York and Philly on the list, so fingers crossed I'll finally get my chance to see him live :D

Billy is the absolute top of my list of acts I've always wanted to see live, but have never been able to (yet). There's literally just a handful left, and most of those are never going to happen, so any chance that the retirement rumours are untrue is obviously great news as far as I'm concerned. I just hope he considers one last tour in the UK, preferably on his own this time. As much as I love Elton, I've already seen him live, so would rather more time be given to Billy. I don't care if he does the big hit singles, or obscure album cuts, because I know them ALL!!! Just a show that I can get to would be enough, he could sing the phone book and I'd die happy.

OMG YES. PHILLYYYYY

Go for it, Vicki! :-)

On another note, I just found out the Rolling Stones are coming to town. I probably have a better chance at winning the lottery than getting a ticket, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Managed to strike it lucky yesterday morning and got a couple of tickets for Hyde Park, can't wait!

Congrats! Enjoy the show! ;)

Ours go on sale Monday morning. They're arena shows, and it looks like the number of somewhat affordable tickets will be limited, so I'll have my fingers crossed. Add to that the fact that there is a pre-sale going on, which I unfortunately don't have the right credit card for. :?

This bit from the Stones' website sounds intriguing, though- I wonder how that will work?:

As a part of the general onsale, there will be something for everyone, including over a 1,000 tickets at $85 (including service charges). Some will be among the best seats in the house in the Tongue Pit, with others spread around the arena. Tickets will be sold as a pair. You will find out your seat location when you pick them up the night of the show.

Other tickets range from $150- $600(plus service charges).

Not to mention the $2000 VIP packages.

Keep an eye on the Stones facebook page, they held a pre-sale on Friday morning which was where I got my tickets from!

Julie in the rv mirror 08 Apr 2013 17:44

Maybe I ought to play the lottery- I got the $85 tickets! :D

They might be uppers, but they might be in the pit. In either case, the price is right! ;)

I've been lucky enough to see them on all but one tour since the Bridges To Babylon tour (Had to give up my ticket for the A Bigger Bang show thanks to work) It's a great live show, even now in their twilight years, and certainly if you're a music fan, they're an act to knock off the bucket list!

Definitely! I never got the chance to see them in the past, and I figure this might be the last one. I finally saw McCartney a couple of years ago, so now I guess it's Mick and Keef's turn. ;)

 me and my brother (who's a huge Stones fan) have been saying that for years, and they still keep coming back. Saw enough of McCartney in Hyde Park with Bruce to satisfy that one I think (even though they pulled the plug)

Keef will probably never die, but that's another story.

Macca puts on a great show. His band is excellent, and they play for around three hours. He did a great mix of Beatles songs and his own solo stuff. Nothing like singing "Hey Jude" with about 40,000 other people...Naaaa... na na... na na na naaaaaaaa............ ;)

Elijah's way 06 May 2013 20:35

I've already seen him live. He's amazing live much better than just hearing his songs on the radio.

The Flying Mouse 30 May 2013 22:21

 There's just been an ad on TV for a show Billy is playing in Manchester.
Looked online and there's tickets for a few UK dates.
Don't think he's retired quite yet

Not so much of a curse, more like payback lol

AndrewG 31 May 2013 10:42

Well tickets sold out in 10 minutes for Birmingham. But managed to snap up two second row tiered tickets for me and my beautiful wife who likes Billy too. They are near the stage so I'm pretty happy.
Bet all the touts have most of the others.

Wario 31 May 2013 11:17

Hope Entertainer and No Mans Land are in the set.

Wow 10 minutes really?

I hope one is a DVD release (Being Billy Joel I dont doubt one is). Billy's last was in 2008 long overdue.
