1 = 2
let a = b
aČ = ab aČ + aČ - 2ab = ab + aČ - 2ab 2(aČ - ab) = aČ - ab 2 = 1 Multiply both sides by a, Add (aČ - 2ab) to both sides, Factor the left, and collect like terms on the right, Divide both sides by (aČ - ab) tell me if it makes sense :-P |

is correct cause 0=0 but not 2=1 at least this is what I remember from math...but that was long ago and it was far away...oh god, how very far... I don't understand how you came up with 2=1??? |
im a math "genius" :-P
you get it because you times the first brackets by the 2 while the second side after the = isnt multiplied by 2 |
2 multiplied by 0 is still 0????
Then yes...it's not 2=1 it's 0=0 You MUST be a genius... |
I dont get 0 from that line though
|
Did you work it out by cancelling out the same numbers/letters?
|
2(aČ - ab) = aČ - ab
Quote:
You should get 0 from this line. You stated a = b so if we subsitute we get 2(aČ - aa) = aČ - aa Apply the basic rule of calculus that brackets, division, multiplication, ddition & subtraction must be done in that order and we get: 2(0) = 0  |

Thank god I am not senile yet!!! |
I dont get it i hate maths..................:(
|
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my head hurts.....maths......eeeeeeeeew...can't do it!
Chloe |
Im pleased im not the only one whose head hurts!!
|
|
And I've done all the calculations in my head...WORSHIP ME!!!
|
:panic:
|
I got 2 for that part ah well, sorry zina

Ill never say it again :-P
|
No, I seriously just didn't understand what you've said...
|
the way i worked it out i got 2 instead of your anwser of 0
|
Don't worry...my first answer was wrong too...hahahahahaha...I was just quick enough to delete it...

But most of all...but most of all... Thank you so very much!!! |
oh dear! why did i just read all that?
I don't feel any smarter, quite the opposite in fact! |
How about this one then:
The square root of 25 (sqrt(25)) is +/- 5 So, sqrt(25) = sqrt(25) 5 = -5 10 = 0 (adding 5 to both sides) 1 = 0 (dividing both sizes by 10) We know that for all numbers A, A*1 = A Also, we know that for all numbers A, A*0 = 0 So, if we multiply both sides of that last equation by A, we get: A = 0 Thus proving that all numbers equal zero. |
No more maths my brain is goin to explode!!!
Carl look what you have done!!!!! |
