Aaaw, Biter, no one should face that kind of abuse at work - perhaps you are more vulnerable because you are short staffed? I can understand how torn you feel - if you don't go to work, then it could leave your colleagues even more exposed to the risk of violence. However, that's not your problem, it's the responsibility of your employer to ensure you are able to work in a safe environment (that is in fact a legal obligation). If you're injured, then you are not fit for work.
