Also, Camden isn't that bad so long as you stick to the main part, just don't accept anything from strangers out of their coat pockets. I tend to stay away from Camden just because it's always full of people when I go, can't do the crowds.
Why is it so hard to write a personal statement? Why do they ask you to say why you want to study the subject you've chosen?
