If you buy something that doesn't work, or does work but breaks all the time, it is called a "lemon". My car is a lemon, out of all of that particular make of car, mine is the one that blows up and breaks regularly.
Due to consumer preotection, if you buy something that doesn't work or it breaks, you can get your money back.
Hence, "Life is a lemon, and I want my money back".
