Believe me or not, I know that story, itīs a song called "Shame and Scandal" released in the 60s (forgot by who) and it was covered last year by Madness (from "our house").
The lyrics are an old poem from Trinidad. Iīll try to recall the them:
Down in Trinidad there was a family
with much confusion as you will see
a mama and a papa and a boy who was grown
he wanted to marry and have a wife of is own
he went to his papa to ask his advice
his father said: "Son, I have to say no,
the girl is your sister but your mama dont know"
Oh, misery, shame and scandal in the family
Oh, misery, shame and scandal in the family
Then the weeks went by and the summer came down
soon the best girl on the island he found
he went to his papa to make a date
his papa shook his head and to this he did say:
"You cant marry that girl, I have to say no,
īcause the girl is your sister but your mama dont know"
Oh, misery, shame and scandal in the family
Oh, misery, shame and scandal in the family
He went to his mama and covered his head,
he told his mom what his father had said
his mama she laughed she said "Go, man, go
Your daddy aint your daddy but your daddy dont know"
Oh, misery, shame and scandal in the family.
