Tenacious D will release 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny,' the soundtrack to their new film, Nov. 14. Jack Black says fans can expect the album, which was produced by the Dust Brothers' John King, to RAWWWK.
Black is particularly psyched about the first track, which features Ronnie James Dio and Meat Loaf, who plays Black's dad. "Ronnie throws down vocals. And don't forget the Loaf," he says. "Here's the amazing thing about the Loaf. He hasn't sung in a movie since the mother-f***ing 'Rocky Horror Picture Show.' Been saving himself for the D. Thirty years later he throws down, and throws down hard, I might add."
Black is also ecstatic to have a certain Dr. G, who you might know better as Dave Grohl, hanging with the D: "We got him on the record and that's more than we could ask for."
Among the other tracks Black is pumped for is 'Master Exploder.' "That's going to be pretty powerful, where I sing so hard that my microphone catches on fire and I explode someone's head with my voice."
