that was my thought too (the Orwell thing). I see also a little similarity too HG Wells´ time machine, forgot the names of the groups but, where these underworld people are living from slaughtering the ones above them.

As for the fact that I still dont get it:
It´s not the metaphore I dont get it are single lines of the song that dont fit in the metaphoric background IMO.
Havent got one in my mind right now, have to listen to the song again.
