i agree with your assessment RM ... i'm a big fan of the original and felt JB would be too young for the role... but i was surprised how well he filled it...
i do think it was too long ... i did like Naomi Watts and ... was it .. Adrian Brody? ... in their roles...
all and all... i was set to not like it... but ended up liking it ...
but still the original is best...imo... it may look hokey?... but it's the music that makes that film so intense... imo ... plus... the first time i saw it... i was a little kid... and you know how impressionable THEY can be...
