I bought a NEW guitar because I wanted to learn on it. That was the biggest mistake as I've given up now. I intended to teach myself with the aid of an instructional video, but whenever I try to press down on a string, it either doesn't sound when I strike it, or my fingers block the surrounding strings. I think my fingers are too fat! I need to lose some weight!
In the meantime, I've got an acoustic guitar sitting in my wardrobe that has virtually never been used, and it will probably go on being that way. I have thought about taking up the piano/keyboard instead.
