Let me throw in my 2 cents in this thread ...
I have the impression two issues are getting a little mixed up in this thread.
The 1st issue is obviously a content issue, an OffTopic thread with a questionable comment that some people may find offensive. Well, I'm pretty sure that has happened to a few people around here and I include myself in this list, because I have posted stuff that others considered to be at least borderline offensive. How do I know that? Because people told me in their replies and/or PMs, just like they did in that particular thread. Stuff like this happens in real or virtual life as we simply can't have the same views and taste about everything out there. Usually, we voice our agreement or disagreement and then we move on, because there's actually nothing more to discuss, either you like or you don't. End of story or thread. Move on.
The 2nd issue is something completely different, it's an attitude issue.

That's taken from a PM I recently wrote. Luckily, the website team shares my view
and consequently we have taken some action that will hopefully address this. Time will tell.
And in the meantime, if you simply cannot stand what somebody's posting around here, add this person to your
Ignore List and you will never see a post from that particular person again - instant relief.
