As for haircuts, my hairdresser can take a couple of hours to cut mine, but he's lovely and we have a good natter so I don't mind.
I do however from time to time cut other people's hair, and used to regularly do a (now ex-) boyfriend's hair (not Alex) - he'd had a few bad experiences with barbers (that he'd paid for) and soon realised the advantages of having me do it - aside of the fact that I'm a perfectionist so there wasn't a strand out of place I also wasn't charging. But he didn't half used to moan it was taking a long time - OF COURSE it took a long time, I am not actually a hairdresser and was actually doing it neatly - what do you want for free?!!
Emma - really glad to hear things are looking up and you have a few avenues now that might lead to jobs - best of luck, I hope something decent comes up soon!
