I think you should be able to go for either recording back tracks if you want...or recording it as basic as possible, literally an instrument and a vocal into a mic. As RJ says not everyone has access to the software to record this kind of thing or doesn't know how to use it.

I agree a deadline is a good idea...but should we not have more then 14 songs? i mean there's more then 14 people who would be interested in this and personally i think the songs that are more obscure then others would be better...as hey some prefer those above the big "hits" as such.

For me what I could do is work with the guys I'm with and see what can be done, but it would be very basic guitar and vocal and maybe a bass.

I think there needs to be some thought put into it though...because I'd want it to come across as being as good or better then rockman (even though I have yet to hear their versions)
