Mercury viewd that the album had died by that point and it was already out the charts. Therefore no point in using on money on something that was already dead. Cry Over Me was only released because Meat was on tour and the single flopped too. The first time since the 80's that a Meat single didn't hit the top 40.
At least we've all got to look forward to the new album with Mercury again! :)
