Meat's turned in some very strong performances in some very good films, but for me the most thought provoking film is Focus, which also has his strongest and most subtle and best performance. It's the first film I've ever rewound and watched right through a second time straight away. The first time I've seen beneath the bluster of a bully, and whilst I could never condone the behavious, saw the mixed emotions and the underlying weakness and fear portrayed perfectly but with an incredibly deft touch. I hope to see Meat given more roles with that level of challenge .. but so far his skill as an actor imo shines out most strongly in Focus.
