Of course you don't necessarily need a story but everybody I was at the shows with really enjoyed that kind of performance. The moment Meat opened the beer bottle the audience seemed to be excited about what was going to happen next. Speaking of beer bottles, it was stunning to see what you can achieve and express with rather ordinary means, LOL.
It wasn't like with
HCTB with Meat telling a story first and expecting people to relate it to the songs on the album (something I consider annoying, by the way). In this case, the story was revealed by the performance only and it was fun to hear the music in that context.
Meat's shows have always been more like theater performances than just rock concerts and I appreciate that he comes up with new ideas. What's wrong with being a little creative?
