Maybe the problem is that
Bat and
Bat II were extremely outstanding albums compared to everything else he's released. The older folks remember him for
Bat, the younger ones for
Bat II. I believe having recorded two of the best albums in music history can be a burden.

People buy CDs because they like the music or the way in which that music is performed. Meat can travel from one continent to another, from show to show (radio and TV that is), talk his head off about that Patrick guy and play the album to journalists who complain that they are "forced" to listen to it - that does not necessarily result in huge album sales. If potential buyers don't get a good bait, they will not feel the urge to check out the album.
