I work parttime in a recordstore in Holland and I was pleasantly surprised that this week I was sent a promotional copy of Meats new album!!

I've listened to it twice and I must say that I did not really liked it. I know a lot of people will shoot me for this, but hey, I'm just being honest. The title track is in my opinion the best song of the album, and I don't even like that song very much. It's also the longest song. Most songs last for about 4 minutes and I think that the songs have a kind of "Blind before I Stop" vibe, if you know what I mean: short rock songs, with sometimes a computer-effect on the drums or some delay on the vocals.
Another thing that surprised me were the lyrics. I'm sorry to say that the lyrics are so cliche, that sometimes I really couldn't listen to them. I mean: where are the days that Meats lyrics had humour, passion and strength? I know that we cannot always compare his new songs to the things he did in the seventies, but this really freaks me out. I will not put any music of the new album on the net, because I know that this will be removed for understandable reasons. I will listen to the new album again and come back later with a full review of every song.
