IMO: Since it is labeled a HoF and that seems to be a benchmark of success to the general public, I think it may get to Meat at times, but overall, I think he gives the proverbial middle finger to the music industry's politics. I think the fans worry about the industry driven prostegious awards more than Meat does.

I think the key word here, is
industry; in all fairness, in what industry is politics NOT a factor? I'm not saying it's right, it's just the way it is. How many times have we heard the phrase, "It's not what you know, it's who you know?"
Think of awards such as the Grammys and even the Oscars- there are criticisms associated with those as well. Movie studios "campaign" to get their movies nominated and voted for. Even those stars on the Walk of Fame are basically bought these days.
