Yes, that's why I don't care that much about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At the end of the day you can compare it to one of those rankings you find in music magazines: The greatest singers, most influential bands, best albums... I once read a "100 best guitar players" list (in
Rolling Stone, I think) and I thought "Where the hell is Slash? Where is Rory Gallagher? Where is Jan Akkerman?" I admire them (and many other artists) regardless of whether they appear on such lists or not. It's the same with the R&R HoF. It's the listeners who make someone a rock and roll legend, not being a member of an exlusive club.
