Although my Meat Loaf music addiction didn't properly start until the release of Bat 2 and all the hype that came with that I did know about Bat 1 well before that. In the late 80s Paradise was re-released in Holland I believe and it was played at a lot of school discos I went to where it always stood out. My parents had the Bat 1 vinyl and I remember playing it. I also got the Hits out of Hell VHS where Meat's "look out in 1992 for my reunion project with Stienman" message (eventually 93 of course) got me quite excited. So I had really been waiting for Bat 2 for a year or two before it all took flight. AFL was what really inspired me and think that was really the first time I fully "got" how amazing music could be and often is.
